Today I begrudgingly whacked £150 on a drill.
And that was at trade price.
Power tools are a fucking joke! It's worse than carbon bike parts

Dov could make an extremely ornate bird table to entertain Pierre?
I suspect so. I'm planning on building a weather vane next

My Bosh drill doesn't want to drill the main walls. I attempted to drill for bolts which supposed to support the bike hanger. Managed to go maybe an inch and a half deep only. No matter what bits I'd use.
I wish I had De Walt proper big thing.

I've done a shit ton of decks when I lived in TN, every house there has one.
If you're screwing get an impact driver, 12v is plenty, good brand like Makita will last years.
Make sure your boards allow a step out from the threshold, level isn't good as water will get in, and a tiny drop is bad as it'll be a toe stubber when you're walking into the house.
Run-off is your friend, aim it at something you want wet.
Factor 15% wastage on materials unless it's a tiny job, all those cuts waste wood.
Don't have cuts in the same place on a joist, better to have no cuts so get the longest boards you can have delivered but if you do have cuts then stagger them like a brick bond.
If the sub is concrete you don't have to kango holes to concrete posts in. Use post brackets/shoes drilled to the existing concrete.
Spending more on materials is worth it, shit decks don't last long in the sun and rain and frost. -

I will PM you once I've got all the bolts. It's going to be a drilling spree.
I shall offer my services in return. Unknown services of questionable quality.
