As long as you are right about this frame being a con... I cant say that as I dont know for sure, do you?

I think it was made clear that is it a conversion one way or another - CUSTOM as least it say.

I rather wait and see. as long as a new owner will be happy with his purchase ...

How good of you to let them part with their money having if not outright lied, then concealed very important information about the build, make them pay shipping, wait for the frame, then allow them to find out for themselves that they've been conned before going through ebay procedures, wasting more time, then having the privilege of paying to ship it back to you before they can get their cash back.

Absolutely an excellent customer experience that in no way reflects the dishonesty of the seller.

Or you could just raise the doubts over the autheticity of it yourself, or state that its been converted/repaired/resprayed/ and allow people to make their minds up based on the truth instead even if it means you'll get less cash, which is really all you care about.

I did, he sent me more pics, I told him that I am not sure about that frame and because he couldnt provide more details that was enough for me not to have it.

I mean except calling people names and so on.

mate you sound like you were born yesterday. do you buy a car for a £10k? with no HPI and so on? will you just buy without checking anything - from what you say it sound like it...

that guy must have been pretty sure about that frame putting it on ebay. unlike forums - where con artists are difficult to trace and therefore if you would want your money back you unlikly to get it - ebay is much better with its procedures and ways to give you your money back.

I suspect you are right that ebay is a better place to sell or buy.
Most times you will get better money for what you sell and as a buyer at least you have some protection. Finally if someone is contacting you, most likely it is because is interested in your item and unlikely only to be rude or to call you names.

I'm sure that he's not been totally honest with the way he's listed it. I don't need to see more pics to see that it is a converted road frame, so what's you're point? People posting here are stopping other forum members getting ripped off by guys like you that are economical with the truth to try and turn a bigger buck. Any name calling is totally justified by his ebay listing that totally neglects to mention it is a conversion, and the pics show it isn't a gios (I've owned one and know exactly what I'm looking for) so despite the sticker, it is not worth £400, is it?

How exactly? Plenty folk've seen through you and your NOS Cinelli (admittedly not very difficult to do) and like everyone that has posted here listing very obvious concerns I wouldn't trust this guy to be honest. Custom does not mean converted.

I've had bad experiences from sellers on ebay that have neglected to mention all sorts of faults, and then suddenly stop communicating when you call them up on it. It's fucking annoying when people think they can get away with it, which unfortunately on ebay they can as even if it is refunded you still pay the shipping cost to send it back and don't get compensated for the time and hassle either. The nice thing about this forum is that arseholes taking the piss are called out just like you were.

That guy is pretty sure he'll get someone that will trust his description and doesn't know any better, and that he won't get publicly called out on the discrepancies listed here. He's taking a gamble that the buyer will have more money than sense and won't figure it out.

You get loads of fucking chancers and dishonest pricks like you on it wasting your time and money. The 'protection' they offer really isn't that great, as they can't force dickheads like you to tell the truth when listing whatever 'NOS' 'Cinelli' they've dug out of a skip on their weekend, and they won't compensate you for the return post even if the seller has outright lied.

That's why its a more appropriate place for you to be.
