I enquired about a couple of items on his website two days ago. Haven't heard anything yet. In the past, I bought a frame and a saddle from him. I would love to visit his house in Bristol and buy some stuff.

Has he flounced as well or did he contribute to the depression thread in an innappropriate manner?

I haven't heard back from hilary for a few weeks now after he offered to take the repair bill for a damaged frame I bought from him. am I asking too much? It was a small repair but pushes the cost for the frame overall by quite a bit. maybe putting this up he might take interest again.

In the process of buying a frame from Hilary I noticed he uses Yodel for delivery.......

So I asked Hilary about a Gazelle AA Champion Mondial frame he had advertised if it was definitely an AA and not a AB frame, he replied that Gazelle didn't make AB Champion Mondial frames, so I bought it, it arrived, I unboxed it and guess what is said on the chainstay clear as day?

So, have you spoken to Hilary?

I emailed him last week, no reply so far.........

I notice Hilary has updated his website today, meanwhile I'm still waiting for a response from him...........

Perhaps he's been busy posting on the internet about you.

Hmmm, maybe. But then he didn't give me any cash in exchange for anything, so perhaps I'm justified in highlighting poor customer service?

I bought a frame off of him two weeks ago - it still hasn't arrived, and I've emailed him a few times asking if it has been dispatched and if there is a tracking number; he hasn't got back to me. Has anyone heard anything from him?

I've found he is very slow to get back to you once you have paid for something but at least he has got back to me, (usually after a week) Yodel seems to be pretty bad for deliveries, maybe the problem is at their end?

No, he used TNT this time (are they owned by/affiliated with Yodel?), although they weren't any better - I came home on Friday to find a bike box with Hilary Stone's stickers all over it, but showing somebody else's address; only on very close inspection did I find my address on the TNT label itself. Open it up - wrong frame. I don't know how many people managed to ignore the fact that it was clearly going to the wrong address.
It's not his fault, but it's still a bit annoying - I bought the frame nearly three weeks ago, and I reckon it'll be at least another week before all the lost frames get sent back and re-posted.

Did you get a reply from Hilary yet? Still waiting here, he offered a partial refund a week and a half ago then nothing............

Phone him on the number on his website, I did and everything was sorted within ten minutes
You tried ringing him, Polco?

You know, I never even noticed he had a contact number there! Saying that he has had plenty chances to rectify the situation whether speaking over the phone or via email!

How did phoning him go? He's very good at ignoring emails - he repeatedly ignored my emails asking when the (very late) frame was going to arrive, which has pissed me off mightily - so much so that I've emailed him asking for a refund... which he has ignored.
I'll have to phone him in the morning.

I never got a chance to phone him this week, however the spare part that was damaged arrived yesterday so thought I'd remind him this morning via email that we'd agreed he would give me a small refund for supplying me with a frame of a lesser value than the advert. He replied later today and refunded the amount, one month after I raised the issue with him! So all in all, he has some nice stuff, in my case he sent it out exactly when he said he would, but if it goes tits up don't expect it to be resolved in a hurry!

Hm. My frame finally arrived and it's in way worse condition than advertised... I've sent him an email asking for a refund and return address and he hasn't responded yet. I'm in the library all day so I can't phone him during work hours.

Nope. He finally got back to me with a return address (and was quite arsey about it, too), I returned the frame nearly three ago and he still hasn't given me a refund - in total that's five weeks since I asked for a refund, meaning he is in breach of the Distance Selling Regulations which he links to on his own website...
I wouldn't mind so much if he wasn't so incredibly rude about it.
if stuff in his office is 'carefully filed', you should see his house where I picked my frame up from. Floor to ceiling springs to mind
