note to cliveo,
on both of the jersey rides I've been on, everything's been roses until we get to chelsea, not sure whether it's the over officious security guards, with no sense of humour, or the nouveau riche tone being set by the billionaire owner and location. But once again Chelsea proved to be a humourless stop on the journey to jobsworthness.
Told to get off our bikes and not ride them, fair enough, then told we couldn't walk our bikes from one gate to the other, because there was a no bike policy. Ride on road to other gate, first guard has informed second guard of our arrival, told we can't walk our bikes to get our photo taken in front of stand, and then had to remove ourselves because we were getting stroppy, getting stroppy involved ramaye trying to have a conversation with 2nd security guard, who was having none of it, and just continued to parrot the same statement over and over.
Got to say until there's some sort of change in attitude, Chelsea's got to be relegated from the jersey ride. It's a sunday for fuckssake, we're in, we take a photo we're out. We will endanger no one, and not be leary...
Apart from that, great day, the list of bedwetters is so long, it stretches to stamford bridge. Good to see the true fans out on their bikes. Great weather, nice company, good quick bits. And the tour at the end, Go On! CAV!!!
Good times..

Got that tired satisfaction of a day well spent, and a pleasing ripening of the exposed forearms.
Nicely done all.

The security at Chelsea are jobsworths and the whole thing left the only bad mark on the ride. Tut tut, maybe it'll be struck off the list and we can include Crystal Palace next time.
Anyway, I cycled back to Vauxhall and gave Niko my spare tube and pump, there was something still in the tyre though as my tube burst straight away. I took the wheel up to Evans and brought a new tube and pumped it up there. By that time it was 4pm, we searched for a local boozer with the Tour on but nothing, ended up watching the last 15Km in The Sports Bar, £4.25 a pint, nuff said.
I enjoyed the ride though and will get out more often now I'm finished my edumacation....

loved it. at home now finishing off a bag of pork scratchings (just to get the hawthorns in). Shame about Chelsea but what can you do? just got to leave them in their own world. Plenty of chevron fun and all topped off with pints and tour success. What we learnt was that nearly all of london is a shite hole yet still expensive. Fulham for me is the best ground (for not going in) all things considered. I've been in the Emirates as a fan and it is amazing but Fulham has that bit extra if you aren't actually going in it to watch a game. (that doesn't make any fucking sense but then the pork scratchings are kicking in now)

Good fun ride, 56.8 miles (for Supertony), but stacked it on the way home whilst checking for Andy behind me, misjudged the big roundabout at Wandsworth and hit the curb, did a good slide across the knobbly blue cycle path on the pavement, ripped my bibs and got a few nice drippy cuts. Still, could have been worse. Bike is fine. Thanks for organising Graham!

Just munching through a tuna and cucumber sandwich, thought I should add my two pennies to today's event.
Thanks to everyone who attended. Was my first time to this event. I found it both tough but enjoyable. Great bunch of people to cycle with. A shame about that idiot at stamford bridge, what put a downer on what was a good day out.
Hope to join you guys on another ride soon.
