It seems even the Met and the Evening Standard get their facts mixed up sometimes, and the fatality outside Lambeth Town Hall was indeed a pedestrian and not a cyclist.

Sorry, anyone, if I've caused any upset by distributing incorrect news.

Of course, it's just as tragic that a pedestrian has died under a lorry and thoughts go out to family and friends.

The ES story has now been corrected to read "Cyclist and pedestrian killed by lorries in crashes on London's roads". Pedestrian deaths are a huge part of the problem (in fact, many more people on foot get killed every year by lorries than people on bikes) and the sooner both cyclist and pedestrian deaths are addressed together, the better.

Rest in peace, unknown victim.
