You love it. Go Scotland!

• #204
Scotland haven't qualified for the Olympics
-
• #205
It's rather unfair that they have to come under Great Britain, yet Australia and New Zealand are allowed to field separate teams.

Goes without saying. Cheats.

I think you'll find Tasmania are having a rather good year on the road cycling front, far better than England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales combined.

So now GB team are suggesting they'll miss the Worlds completely next season;

Well, at Olympic games only 1 rider or team per country can participate.
So, maybe 2 or 3 riders per discipline will not go Down Under and focus on London. But I guess that team GB-II can still get some medals.
Good opportunity for those who have to prepare for Worlds 2013 and Rio de Janeiro 2016. -

and i was cheering him on.
that's because i like road cycling as it's about more than which nationality wins the most races. because if that's all that matters then just look at the points table and not bother watching the 'racing'same with formula one (i only have a passing interest)

Great, hippy, now you've done it with all your gloating.
-
• #213
Let him have his little moment of gloating. We are never so vulgar, even in the ashes thread we remain gracious in victory.
-

I'll be counting New Zealand's medals along with ours then shall I?
Cheating 'Team GB'.
Actually, why is there 'GB' for the olympics but not for the world cup?

might as well give up then :-(

There is.
You mean commonwealth games?
World Cup allows trade teams (which essentially allows countries to field more riders, see sky, jayco, ouch etc..)

A BC official has said that GB will definitely be sending a team to the 2012 Worlds, Brailsford has been told to get back in his thinking outside the box box.
-
• #223
They'll send their 'B' team to force Australia to send their 'B' team, too.
-
• #224
GB will do whatever they think is the very best thing in order for the athletes to peak at the London Olympics. No more, no less. If it means sending a full strength squad to the worlds they will, if it means sending "reserve" riders for testing or experience they will, if it means sending nobody at all they will.
Dave Brailsford really, really doesn't want me to buy hippy a burger in 2012.

World champion title lasts for one year, olympic title for 4, you do the maths.
An olympic champion can command much higher fees than a simple world champ. You can get an OBE, MBE or knighthood for winning olympic gold. For winning world champs you get a gay friendly jersey...
Yep, I hope Scotland do well at the Olympics.
