I'll be venturing up to Manchester tomorrow to start Uni so should be around for the next few years, hope to get a little more involved than I did down south
I'll start a new thread at some point but looks like we are getting some funding through work to help get uni students into bmx racing.... watch this space if it's something you might be interested in.

It hasn't been but I can see myself giving it a go, same with this fabled bike polo I hear so much about
-
• #354
Mainly in polo, yeah?
-

Manchester's famous Tum is in Owens Park right now, I also crashed there for six months or so some years ago, hopefully you didn't get my room.

yo!
So you're on the same campus as the legend that is Tum. so you also can get me into the student parties yeah? -
• #357
Let him into non of the student parties at any cost, the last thing the uni campus needs is another scabies outbreak.

I start my final year at manc uni on monday, fun fun fun

Nearly finished my first week at uni, so, so much paperwork to get through! I am, however, enjoying my commute in Manchester more than I thought I would.
-
• #361
where are you commuting from/to?
-
• #362
Pendlebury to Didsbury, managing to avoid the very busy roads & getting a good few miles in each week with a loaded carradice. Hopefully it'll make my legs stronger for the hill climb I foolishly agreed to in November.
-
• #363
oh that is a nice commute.
I work 1 mile away from where I live, I really miss being able to have a decent ride in the morning.
-
• #364
It's the longest commute I've ever done, really thought it was going to be a lot harder. A mile commute doesn't give you time to wake your legs up.
Do you Manchester folk meet for drinks at any point? (compass beer style)
-
• #365
there is a group of us that go for a fixed gear ride every week.
we meet in Pub/Zoo every Wednesday at 6pm, we have a pint or two and then head out for a ride, usually end at another pub, sometimes stop at some pubs in between.
You on Facebook? Search for the 01FIX1 group (or bikingmetalpunx as it was formerly known)

Or polo, we drink a lot at polo.
-
• #367
And usually after polo.
-
• #368
I can vouch for that. I went there once, for ten minutes, and was offered beer twice.
-
• #369
Did we check your age first?
-
• #370
of course not.
-
• #371
I give more beer to underage people.
-
• #372
I'm 27.
I look about 12 though so I can understand the confusion. -
• #373
Damn, less beer for you then.
-
• #374
I will try to come out next Wednesday, so long as I can get home & ditch the weighty carradice first! I'll look into the facespace thingy too.
