  • Urban explorer does sound fun, do know what sounds better? Urban poloista! Do you fancy coming to play a bit of polo, we'll be about on Sunday, come down.

  • low and behold February's in the shop have become so so very boring that i have joined the forum, some of you may know me from Harry Hall cycle emporium where i work with my civil partner craig nasty,

    hello!

  • Surely it can't be that boring that you resort to joining this particular circle of hell.

  • give me a job and you'll never be bored again

  • I wouldn't, he can't even ride a bike with out falling off.

  • That's because he can't setup brakes or a headset for toffee. Even my ninja bike god skill set was gravitationally challenged by his sloppy workmanship.

  • true

  • Love you really. Please true my wheel :D

  • I'll do it for sunday

  • oh it is particularly boring haha! i have fallen off once on the last two weeks so im doing better than usual, my sloppy workmanship is my charm ;-) bring your wheel in any time im in and ill sort it!

  • I've already got his wheel, it'll be in my stand tomorrow

  • The other one's off too though. I may be able to fix it up (instead of writing a dissertation)

  • better start off in here then eh!? tom, just joined up - currently riding nothing but that's changing soon, with the demise of my lovely ford fiesta i need a new form of transportation, and being a fan of fixed gears et al for a while, and my bursary due to land from MMU anytime now, i'm looking for some help/advice on getting set up!

i tried searching the forum for a good place to look for a bike (currently thinking of going down the road of converting an older bike to a fixed one) but most of the posts are a few years old now, anybody able to offer a little help? or even better, sell me something half decent?! bikes only going to be used to run to ffield and back (living in hulme), and getting to town etc so it doesn't need to be the fanciest thing ever.

also running the marathon in april (manchester), would be interested in a running buddy if anyone here is training too!

  • ^ How tall are you? Check out the NW Marketplace topic for bikes 'n stuff.

    P.s. Hello.

  • erm, 6'2, actually, maybe nearer 6'3 now! yeah i spotted that thread after posting, ill have a quick look now!

  • I'd recommend a polo bike and playing polo on said bike

  • erm, 6'2, actually, maybe nearer 6'3 now! yeah i spotted that thread after posting, ill have a quick look now!

Maybe stick a "wanted" in there, mention you're a tall'un though. Enjoy!

  • Hi Tom, welcome! You going to play polo wih us then or just hawking for cycle expertise? Come polo - daft fun.

Runnin a marathon? I'll join you if it's somewhere nice, we could get the train or drive out to disley and run through the hills... Is it the Manchester Marathon you're planning? I wouldn't bother, I'm told it's brutally dreary. There are a few marathons held up in t'lakes that I'm toying with working up to, a t'web search will provide all.

    See you Thursday ;)

  • haha, for polo a bike would be necessary! it does sound fun though.

oh really? i've already registered (£50!!!!!), i'm running for the east lancs hospice too, im originally from blackburn. i've been running for a while but hadn't done more than 10 miles and wanted to challenge myself, that and raise some cash for a cause close to my heart.

  • Christs Chin! Awesome, that's from the day today right? Alan's commentary on the horse race

  • I'm sure the good vibes will carry you smiling through Manchesters suburbs - good work for the charity fundraising, put me down for a fiver.

I'll not join you on Mcr Marathon but I've been itching to run between Buxton and Disley (through the hills proper, not the A6) for a while and I think I'm going to get some nice new running shoes next month. Fancy it?

haha yeah, was waiting for someone to pick up on it! 'gypsy town massacre'.

possibly, i do fancy somewhere different, i've been running to and from fallowfield for ages, and it's getting very tedious now - i just have to be careful of were i run, both of my knees are pretty beat so anything harsh can put me in serious pain.

  • alf ramsey's porn dungeon

  • just bought some running trainers... not sure they'd suit cross-country running... but I might as well find out!

    spot of fell-running anyone? ;)

  • Saturday? I can drive us out somewhere nice - Goyt Valley is my first choice.

Or we could ride out to Goyt and run around and then ride back. :-P
