love those vids.. btw i think a few people need to chill out on this thread. it was intended to poke fun at my turkish routes, seems this is lost on a few people. Please don't take any of this too seriously, there's enough grief in the world. it's friday and the sun is out, enjoy it while it lasts..

Indeed Turkish culture and cuisine is great, however consistent refusal by Turkish governments over the aforementioned Armenian massacre have been damaging for Turkish society (the brutal murder of Hrant Dink was a consequence of that damage to society), the continued neglect and damage wreaked upon the remaining ruins (most famously the ancient Armenian city of Ani) and Khackhars (Armenian stone crosses) remains a blight on Turkey's image.
When one discusses the Armenian genocide one should take the time to remember the murder and destruction also meted out to the other Christians of eastern Anatolia, not least the Pontic Greeks of Trebizond/Trabzon and the Assyrian Christians of the Tur Abdin and Van regions. But moving away from that thorny subject and back to the more agreeable subject of Turkish Cuisine I am surprised no one has mentioned how awesome Baklava and Borek is!
All I know about Turks is their Iskender Yogurtlu Kebaps, and for that they are truly God's chosen people. They should move to Israel.
Oh man that dish is the business.

They could have stuck a couple hundred more 'extinguished sparks of Greek civilisation' on there.
