Can we have Fixed rear built by them or do we buy the rims and have our LBS build them for us?

You can do either, obviously limited by hub choice but they've got a good range.

I'm 88kg and have been impressed by stopping performance, very comparable to alloy but I haven't used them in the wet.
You're close to my weight, what spoke number you running front and back?

im struggling to finds the fixed hub option. help plz

I suggest dropping them an email, @Saffronspokes - who is your contact?
I went for 28 spoke on my road bike and 32 for gravel. 28 with 55mm rims didn't feel any less stiff than 32 with Archetypes.

In case it's useful, I just took delivery of this FarSports tubeless fixed wheelset . There's an option for braking surface on this model. Also depth up to 88 mm. Have not tried braking yet 🤞 but I only ride a mile or so to HHV.

What is the build quality like if you get Light Bicycle to build the wheels rather than buying rim only and having them built by a decent LBS/wheel builder?
-
• #8562
I've had 2 sets of wheels built by Lightbicycle and they've both been dead true out of the box and I've had no issues with either. When pricing it up I found it cheaper to get them to build rather than to source the parts myself.

Thanks - that’s good to hear.

don't think the material on the nose piece is the same as oakley's (which according to their marketing guff is some proprietary material that gets tackier as you sweat). suspect this is why the fits not as good as my legit radars - on last night's ride they were shifting a bit every few miles, whereas the radars are genuinely fit and forget. will just source a legit replacement nose pad - anyone know best place to source?

I’ve checked over one pair of new Light Bicycle road wheels and they’re good. They seem fairly even-tension and seem properly de-stressed. Spoke aren’t wound-up. The blades face as-they-should. To my rookie eyes they seem ok. No pinging when ridden etc.
I have some 46mm rims of theirs on my own road bike. They’re excellent. They don’t have the grooved brake tracks but still braking is good. The LB brake pads are fine.

LB quote done this morning for a dream pair of wheelset I want to purchase:
*The price for wheelset with following specs is USD1537/pair.
- Rims: Falcon pro AR45, UD paintless 32H, hook, disc, standard version, with glossy black valve logo only
- Hubs: 32 holes Son28 Dynamo front (black) centerlock/ 32 holes Chris King R45D (disc) (black) centerlock, shimano road 11S, front 12*100mm/rear 12*142mm - Spokes: black sapim cx-ray bladed
- Nipples: black aluminum
- Lifetime warranty

Due to Covid-19 situation, there are few flights. Currently, we provide two kinds of shipping methods to UK for one wheelset.
TPD: USD156, tax pre-paid duty, don't need to pay customs tax and VAT cost, 20~25 days roughly for delivery.
Fedex: USD220, need to pay Customs fee if necessary. We will also declare the low value to help you reduce the tax cost, 7~10 days roughly for delivery.*
it seems to me quite good considering other brands, bits and pieces.

Just my unsolicited internet opinion but 32 cx rays spokes per wheel but aluminium nips? What’s the thinking?
If you want;
Crazy-strong - brass nips and Sapim Race spokes.
Fast - fewer CX rays spokes (and maybe slightly deeper rims) -

how do these rims without holes in the bed work? How do you get the nipple in?
-
• #8570
yep, crazy strong is good tip
-
• #8571
Personally I avoid aluminium nipples completely but that’s an aside (and in the wrong thread).

I've got the 55 U shape on the fixed bike, fancy brake surface on the front , no brake surface on the back. Pretty decent around HHV or RP.
