My tubs came in at $390, still plenty cheap.
What would a single Zipp 404 come in at for reference I wonder?

Sorry, not carbon related but thought it might be better to post here than start a new thread.
I'm noticing a lot of cheapish "lightweight" cnc type hubs showing up on ebay just now.
Wondering if anyone has tried them?
I'm after some new hubs and while weight isn't my main concern I'd quite like something a bit different to the usual shimano stuff and these would seem to fit the bill and are cheaper and more readily available than the likes of older Hope hubs etc.
This kind of thing:

I bought the UniQ 20/24 hubs which were £99 delivered including skewers, very happy with them so far.
Noisy!

Sounds good, I like noisy!
I have a Hope Ti front hub and want something that will be equally as individual/different I guess.
I take if/when pawls or springs go in the rear hub then it's a case of trying to get something similar and makin it fit?

Bought some forks today, hoping for a swift delivery. Not been on the fixed for epic time

My superlight 50mm rims came with a matt black finish on them:
I needed to clean the glue off the rims, so used Acetone as recommended, and the flat black came off with the glue:
Which I, personally, think looks nicer.
But, if you order some of these, be warned that acetone will strip the finish.

Dammit where did you get 20/24 hubs. I am getting keen to build a track set of 50mm but am struggling to find hubs
-
• #859
I searched eBay using "20/24 hubs", and then refined based on price, weight, and feedback score of vendor.

You make it sound so simple

• #861
Looks like there are very few track options for 20/24 drilling. Might be easier to source hubs first & then specify rim drilling
-
• #862
Royce and maybe goldtec custom drilling, or wait for Planet X to randomly stock them again.
-
• #863
Velodrome shop has American Classsics but I am not that keen to spend >£200 on hubs alone
-
• #864
Spin do massively overpriced 24H for £130 a pair
-
• #865
ask dov what hubs he used
-
• #866
Farsports will do a rim with a custom drilling if you ask them to- and you can get the carbon rims in 28H, which as it is off the shelf is probably the easiest thing to do.

...massively overpriced...
because they're just standard system x types?

I reckon I might just buy the planet. X carbon wheels for 399. The weight looks OK. Doesn't appear that they are made completely of cheese.

Just for a bit of balance...

The wheels look great though.

They don't make them as clinchers or to fit Campag though :(

Hah yeah...you know what they say? Great minds...are wasted on internet forums ;)
Even with the extra 100 theyre still plenty cheap enough.
