303-a-like
RRU45C02 is the most 303ish rim at LB

Post a selfie, let us decide

I've been pondering getting a Sutro because GvA looks so dreamy in them.

But my flightjackets were a bit shoddy, clamped nowhere near tight enough. Fixed it with a dollop of Araldite in the corner where the legs meet the frame, but still.

Just ordered another couple of Spexcel jerseys, seeing as I am perfectly happy with the stuff I've bought from them so far. Whatever their premium models cost is the most you should ever pay for a synthetic short sleeve jersey.
But I've never bought bibs off AliExpress. It would be great to find something with relatively thin padding for my 1 - 2 hour evening spins, something I'll just chuck it straight into the laundry after just that one hour use.
Anyone? -

I recently bought their ~$20 bibs, which seem fine after two ~4 hour rides. The pad is pretty thick though.

Yeah... that's what I am thinking. The general trick seems to be putting overly plush pads into cheap bibs, so as to kind of hide imperfections/lack of finesse.
A bit like how Starbucks just roast the hell out of their beans to cover up a poor raw material. -

How’s the sizing on the jerseys? Am a solid M in most Rapha bar PT and thinking of giving Spexcel a go..
-
• #7812
My impression is that they try to follow Rapha sizing quite closely. But for me, I wear S in most Rapha stuff and find that Spexcel M works best. So for you I guess you want L to be on the safe side?

Cheers man; will give that a bash.

Oakley eyeshade?

Is there a forum LB rim order in progress, or are there enough people interested to warrant one? Think I'd like me some carbons..

Thanks!

• #7818

Thick pad?
-
• #7820

In other news, I've just bought a cheap alloy stem to check if a 70mm would be the right fit. Would usually just have gotten one from Decathlon, but they don't have anything between 40 and 80.

Anyone worth considering for some ~50mm deep carbon rims beyond light bicycle? AliExpress has a plethora of options, but not sure how many I trust....
-
• #7824
Why the LB reluctance - do you just want cheaper? Light bike are very good...
-
• #7825
My searches threw up https://www.carbonalbike.com LB and Farsports.
Ultimately I went for LB, best spec and most trust.
I did see the ones GvA has been sporting recently, look quite similar.
