Reduces drivetrain drag due to shallower chain angle thus less friction is the basis.
In reality, it looked cool and I was bored so I bought it....

In reality, it looked cool and I was bored so I bought it....
This applies to the majority of my strange AliExpress purchases.

This is my latest aliexpress purchase, I think it's a knog qudos copy. It comes with the adapter from 1 to 2 gopro mounts. Light is very bright, even on the 1 LED setting. The adaptor thing is plastic, and a little bit bendy. I'll see how the gopro footage looks after I ride tomorrow
Can't complain for £15 for light and mount though...

That looks sick. Link?

It's this ^ It comes with those big bolt things, but I nicked a couple of suitable length bolts out of an old stem.
The computer mount it's attached to is a Fouriers one, it already has a gopro mount below it. I think I remember spotting an alu Fouriers 1 > 2 gopro adapter thing, so if this one flops around everywhere I might get that...

link to the fouriers wahoo mount?
-
• #6612
It's officially billed as a garmin mount, but you can spin the thing 90deg and it's 'generic' enough that a Wahoo fits without having to file anything.

Nearly identical to the (currently cheaper) Wiggle own brand one (https://goo.gl/EG2wCB). Less material on the boom of the Wiggle one. Lighter/little weaker/little less stiff?
Most likely to fail the single screw that attaches the boom to the bar clamp with X no. devices and a big jolt. Bendy plastic 2-1 mount might help dissipate such a shock, whereas an alu one would transfer more force along the boom to the weakest point. -

I had that one, its weak and the bolts are made of cheese, I had to drill it out.

Yeah looks pretty similar. I've had that Fouriers mount a year or so, probably longer actually... It's been solid, although it sounds like they get the bolts from the same place as the lifeline one, they're not the best. Added bonus with the Fouriers mount is the metal shims for thinner bars, I put them to use for my Brompton gopro mount.
Good point about the single bolt being the weak point, I'll stick with plastic unless it's obviously shit. The camera isn't very heavy and the gopro's been on there for a year or two with no issues...

Any sleeping bags that replicate the Sea To Summit SP I?
-
• #6617
For sleeping bags you might find some deals on synthetic stuff but nothing will be able to perform as well as the SP1 you're referring to. Also when buying down I'd at least check out who's producing the stuff. There's lots of info in the sleeping bag thread

I've got an Aegismax sleeping bag. I dunno about the STS SP1 but I went bikepacking last week in Spain and it worked like a charm.

Carbon clincher wheelset for rim brakes c.38mm. What's the current recommendation? Happy enough to sacrifice a little weight for something that will have a bit of longevity?
-
• #6621
Still having good quality and service from Far Sports. First ride in the wet the other day and braking with Lifeline pads was fine, none of this "carbon rims in the wet are death".
-
• #6622
They look pretty great! Where did you buy them from? Which hubs did you go for?
-
• #6623
Lifeline pads are best pads I've ever used on my AliExpress carbon specials.

Has anyone bought off amazon.co.uk from a Chinese seller?
I got some bicycle crabon from Monicater recently, went as well as any other Amazon marketplace transaction, but it was fulfilled by Amazon. If you want fast and smooth, "fulfilled by Amazon" is a label to look for because it probably means it's already in a warehouse inside the EU, anything coming direct from China will be subject to the usual vagaries of customs processing.

1-3W
I believe it will fit any non-clutch SRAM Mech I.e. Red, Force, Rival, older XO/X9 10speed.
I've never had a clutch Mech in pieces so wouldn't be able to say, but I think the mounting system in different on all the 1x kit CX1, XX1 etc.
