Any suggestions for some 50mm carbon clincher rims for +100kgs? Maybe 20/24h
-
• #5456
I've got my cn*carbon (carbonspeedcycle on the invoice) ebay 50mm u-shape carbon wheels. I'm about 95kg at the moment and I think they rate them for 110kg. I went for 28h drilling, which they were happy to do for no extra charge. I haven't ridden them loads yet but they feel solid and haven't exploded.

Exciting. Do you have a link? I can't find the seller.

I got the 25mm wide ones, by the way.

Looks very nice indeed. I need them for rim brakes tho
These then?

Yeah they look about right, and thanks 😊

Are they the G+ Rubino Pro?
How are you finding them? -

The cn carbon rims are decent. I've had these for a while and so far no problems. Rode them everyday for a month or two. They can pretty much do any variation of rims (within reason). I went for 28/28 no brake track, UD gloss.

Yep, they're fine so far. One puncture in... 1500 miles or so on my last wheelset and treated myself to a new pair for these. That one puncture was on a pisswet night after I'd been filtering on a really shitty flinty/glass strewn hash-marked section between lanes. Pretty cheap and pretty good grip, they feel about the same as the Schwalbe Ones I had on before.

getting confused with these light bicycle rims. 35mm deep ones. do they have drive and non drive spoke holes? it really doesnt look like it
-
• #5468
don't think so, i have a pair to build, holes are aligned
-
• #5469
The holes are angled so the spoke goes to the specific flange.

yes I am aware, have built a handful of wheels - but find it odd these dont seem to have any change in drilling. strange

Anyone tried one of the aliexpress fake enve (I think?) single bolt seatposts?
I've ordered one but am now fearing carbon shards in the gooch.

If you're referring to the type that's actually a rip off of the Bontrager XXX post, I've one on my S-Werx. Seems nice and sturdy, but the adjustment mechanism on mine is cack. Only holds with copious amounts of grip paste and is very difficult to reposition once you tighten the hell out of it. But as with all these things, I might have a duff one.
Equally, you might get one that breaks and impales you, but mine's held me up despite being over 100kg a while back
