Alright chaps, an update on my wheels. Spent the weekend gluing and all that crap. Tyres are on now but still need another 12 hours of curing before I can ride.
Ive gotta say I found the whole gluing process quite difficult. Well not all of it, just the last bit. I did 2 coats, 24 hours between them and a 3rd just before putting the tyre on. The tyre had one coat one which also rested 24 hours. I tried to get the base tape as even as poss but it didnt take long until i could barely move it. Tyre is a bit wobbly but not too bad. Still, kind of annoyed about it. Makes the idea of tufo tape attractive as you can fiddle around with centering as long as you want.
Im also not 100% confident I have enough glue in a couple places, most of the tyres looks good but there is the odd gap that looks a bit starved, can i put shove some in there with my finger?
Might take it out for a cheeky spin around the block tonight depending on how impatient im feeling.

That braking surface looks very different to my current ones- those are meant to be the development of mine, so that makes sense. How flat is it?

He's probably making a porteur rack out of them.

which bike does he have a porter rack on? please tell me its his carbon PX

he borrowed photoben's wretched racked bike for the tweed run
and then he managed to destroy the cranks, i think they were made of cottage cheese as the chainring separated from the cranks (they were a one piece item with the chainring welded on)

My wheels are now "at delivery office", and the little map on the tracking page shows that to be in Africa somewhere.

88mm/510g
60mm/400g
The 60mm has their latest braking surface on it, and looks very interesting- they refer to it as "Basalt coating"

Looking good, i need one of these ceiling weighing scales.
Can you get a close up of the volcanic braking surface?
My hub came today, it feels buttery smooth, can't wait to get the rim and lace it up
