I don't think there is one, if there the courts in preston park still. I'm sure parking is available in the park though. or at least nearby on the road that run round it

just a thought, as lots is always booked for preston park, whould it be avisable to book the courts?

i know strength in numbers could just take it over, but a simple email might mean its easyier for all. rather better then jobsworthy park ranger getting us booted out right?

Brighton are all over this tournament. 100% sure they've considered this.

Hiya all,

I'm helping sort out the tourney here in Brighton. We've contacted the council who have told us that although they do offer bookings for many of their parks/courts/facilities, Preston Park courts are not part of this scheme. Thus we will be looking to occupy the courts as early as possible on the day to ensure that we get them for the whole day. It is a popular spot with people who play 5-a-side and basketball games, we sometimes catch flak for "just riding bikes about" on them but I think that when they see all the burly tattoo'd types wielding home-made hammers we should be alright. It's Brighton, people are soft down here and some of them are even open to reason gasps

I'll watch this thread closely and can answer your questions. I'll also be putting up a detailed plan, map, guide to the area/transport once we've confirmed what needs confirming.

Finally, we are rushing to get this done in the time-frame. Anyone that thinks that they can lend a hand with talking to sponsors or any other organisational stuff is more than welcome. In this case I will PM you my phone number.

Looking forward to another drubbing, this time on my home court!

coool! i remember the nice days when you'd get the 'just riding bikes' thing.

shame they don't offer this for those courts but others round the corner they do. seeing as there will be at least 78 people. oh well. strength in numbers it is then.

OR i just had a flash of brilliance
Use this to make a fake 'these courts are booked on 7th/8th may'' style laminated sign. put about 6 up and hey presto. courts booked.

We've done this in London before. Seems to work.
