Should be close to 100 games, Bill. Depends on how many teams show up on the day, obviously.

To compare, we played 91 games at the qualifiers (although we started way too late, and people were slack as hell getting on the court).

Yes, we need whips for this, and a megaphone.

Assuming the schedule runs smoothly, it should be around 7:30. That gives an hour of extra sun light.
fingers crossed
If we finish with an hour of sunlight it might be nice to cycle en masse to the seafront to watch the sunset.
Seems like a shame for people to come to Brighton without getting a whiff of the sea air!

We have a megaphone.
Edit: and whips

100 x 10
/ 60
/ 2 courts
= 8 hours- faffing time
= 10 hours

Exactly. 9:30 start = 7:30 finish = 1 hour before sunset.

We did 91 games for the Qualies in about that. We must have started closer to 11 than 10 (much closer, if not later than). And we finished with about 45 minutes before the court lights went out (so finished around 20:15/20:30 I would say? We got to the pub in time for pizza).
People just can't get lazy, otherwise it will run away from us. There will be ways (with mobiles phones, or a central location) where you can check when you're up next. If people miss their game, they've forfeited it. Which means 10 more minutes in the bank! Whoa!

I need to have 10 refs for this.

BTW, Degen are going to arrive at the courts at around 0940ish approximately.

There are at least five of us in Brighton who will be on hand to ref on the day.
What time are you arriving Bill, shall we organise a refs meeting for 9 am?

Ha, nice.
If you fiddle around with the order you enter the teams on the software you can rig when their first match is. We may have to do this for Fah-Q as well. They are coming all the way from Cardiff on Saturday morning.

By all means organise a ref's meeting for 0900, but don't expect me to be there. I'm arriving with my team at around 0933.
Can I ask all the Brighton refs to read the rules sometime in the next day or so, and PM if they have questions?

I propose a reffing/rules meeting tomorrow as well as the last minute panic meeting we're going to have ;)

Please can I have their names asap, as well as the teams they are from. This information is needed to hand so that you don't end up allocating a ref to a court when they supposed to be playing on the other court.

I'm not in a team, but play polo in Brighton, is that gonna be a problem?
Can anyone tell me how many games total there are going to be? This is useful information for me, as I need to work out how many refs will be needed for the tourney.
Can I also ask for the names of people that are willing to ref this weekend? Ideally, as many people from the Euro Qualis as possible.
