I just listened to one of those after friend suggested it.
Still got a bunch of Joe Rogan, Trainer Road, Outside, Hidden Athlete and more to go through.

What does it do over BeyondPod?
I've used BeyondPod for years and it just sits on my phone downloading new episodes but I've never really felt like I've got to grips with it and listening to more than a single podcast seems to take loads of faffing.

It actually works. The BeyondPod devs have just given up, look when the last update was (on android at least).
podcast addict can chromecast - BeyondPod has never had this feature working
PA does proper list handling - BP this is now broken
PA is regularly updated on user feedback - BP has no one
PA is actually stable - BP crashes out constantly for me -

Interesting. I don't have a lot of those problems with beyondpod. It's never crashed on me and chromecasts fine (I'm not sure what you mean by list handling).
BP has never quite won me over though so I'll give it a try.

I'm not sure what you mean by list handling
Playlists, the way it generates them and then works though them etc. I found BP wouldn't always delete stuff and I would have to restart downloads some times.

I tried to use the Google podcast app, but it's terrible, and somehow they've been unable to improve it in the last 5 months or so.
I'm using Spotify now, which is slightly better.
-
• #286
I just tend to manually add stuff to a playlist but it does seem to be a bit hit and miss on whether something plays next or not, what gets deleted, etc

Think I am the one who asked about podcast apps, still sounds like I am not missing out by sticking with doggcatcher
-

I use Spotify pretty much exclusively. I’ve found it amongst the easiest to listen to stuff in order of release - something I’ve found bizarrely difficult in some apps
-
• #289
My only problem is that it doesn't have all the podcasts. I guess this is a problem for all podcast platforms, even Google were missing a few, but it's annoying.
My wife uses overcast.fm which seems very good, but it's not available on Android and apparently never will be.

Yeah the guy who makes it is unabashedly Apple-centric
WRT missing podcasts, if the creators publish it to the iTunes feed, which almost all podcast apps use, then it will be mass available. I don’t like the idea of platforms creating content so they can keep it to themselves, but I guess otherwise they’re all reliant on ads, sponsors, and patreons to survive.
Is it pocketcasts that was taking content without permission and splicing their ads into it? Also, the acast jingle is getting to me

Yeah there’s been a couple of podcasts I’ve been recommended that I’ve n out been able to get on Spotify. This convenience of getting podcasts where I listen to music when I’m working has so far trumped that downside though. So far.

Hi everyone, posting this in this thread as it might be of interest to some.
On our latest episode of Any Given Sunday, we had a chat with newly crowned National Champion Ed Laverack, talking about the day, training for hills and a load more. Hope you enjoy it - you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts by searching 'Any Given Sunday'

I can’t stress strongly enough how brilliant Gossipmongers is.
Definitely the funniest podcast out there, in my opinion.
Brian & Roger is fucking dark but funny.
Brian Gittins & Friends is piss funny too.
I listen to tons of true crime, but definitely open for any new true crime podcasts out there! -

What's happened to your podcast?
-
• #298
He got some new music and it ruined it for everyone

Gossipmongers is amazing. I can’t quite put my finger on why. But it is.

Still trying but our sound guy had insane telly commitments. I’m hoping to do something with. Fucking Amazing Dave soon, if at all possible.
Just listened to the first 3 gossip mongers on a drive across the pennines to visit a very recently widowed grandparent. I'm sat in the living room as my mother-in-law is going through letters and said "here's one from Scottish Widows" nearly pissed myself.
