New environmental thriller from the beeb, not listened yet but the premise sounds interesting, every episode comes with a supporting lecture and sound scape

With the Pro season in full swing, Mitch Docker's 'Life in the Peloton is excellent.
Brilliant insight into pro cyclists lives, Mitch has a good raport with most of the interviewees and all come across as fairly down to earth guys (and Girls) doing an amazing but at times mundane job. Favourites are Adam Hansen talking about Diet & nutrition and Michael Woods after his Vuelta stage win. -

I am sure I am not the only one who has stumbled across "It could happen here" from the same guy that does "Behind the bastards". I am developing a bit of a man crush on the guy. And I can't get my head around the fact that the guy is so young.

just listened to the 1st one I need to go back and listen again as was doing so work so only half listening.
I really like behind the bastards when the guest is good, been said befor up thread but sometimes it can fall in to a banterfest between the guest and him.
will go back and listen to "it could happen here" again as I do find him interesting and engaging to listen too. -

Michael Lewis has it's own podcast now and it's as good as you would expect. All four episodes so far have been great. Like his books the topics are only US centric, but to follow the way he cuts trough issues is exhilarating regardless of how relevant the issue might seem to Europeans.
I would also recommend to absolutely everyone the brief and now finished series How to Fuck up an Airport. You might not think you'd be interested in German airports, but again it's about how it paints a wider picture that feels relevant for all sorts of other processes.

On the whole I resent how being a podcast fiend means my mental space is frequently transported to the US where I end up going in depth into all sorts of minutiae about US politics and recent history.
Would like to find more international stuff.
BBCs documentary series has a great range of global issues but feels hit and miss. Monocle is OK, but has the same smug elitist feel as their printed magazine. Futility Closet is usually great when they can find something from around the world. -

The British History Podcast is pretty decent. Interesting perspective..it’s run by a Welshman who moved to Portland Oregon age six, so he lacks a lot of the cultural baggage. He is an ex lawyer not a historian so he approaches this with pretty meticulous research. The going is slow, I think he should reach the present day by about 2080

Other history podcasts I rate highly:
Mike Duncan's The History of Rome
Roger Carlin's Hardcore History - especially the bit about WWI -

Currently enjoying the WTF podcast with Marc Maron. Just great interviews with all sorts of people.
David Chang podcast is a new one for me too and it's fantastic!

Gone full meat head and started listing to Jocko's podcast, he has some great insight but obviously comes with a lot of baggage that many won't like.
Listened to Eddie Izzard on JRE this week and was a little underwhelmed for some reason.
Anyone else listen to Your's mums house? Can't believe they got try it out guy on after years of build up

Oh wow, that’s a fast listen!
Glad you all enjoyed it as much as I did. I found the episode with the Yazidi girls particularly heartbreaking.
These interviews with Rukmini Callimachi by Longform, might be of interest too.

I've been enjoying the Working Class History podcast. I just listened to a series about the Stonewall riots and how it led to the current pride movement which was really interesting.
Probably not good to listen to if you want to have any faith in any sort of government or police force though. -

The series about GI resistance in Vietnam is well worth a listen as well.
