I have to admit I think bacon tastes quite nice, after years of being disgusted by it. But that's only if I ignore the fact that it's dead animal. Which is quite repulsive
How do you feel towards the smell of cooking bacon?
Ive always been a meat-eater, but its one of the few things that makes me heave/gag rather violently. Just cannot get used to it or imagine it tasting nice.
Got no qualms about it being a dead pigs arse though.

So youve eaten bacon (and possibly other meats) and theyve tasted nice even though they smell horrible. By this reckoning, I might also find that piggies taste nice.
Interesting...

I can't believe how fast Doug, Steve and Sean were riding. Fucking rippers man... blistering pace for 50 miles with no let-up and I was dropped. Then picked up by Rob who was about 15 mins behind. Then dropped again. Probably would have been OK if I had gotten more than 4.5 hours sleep, hadn't eaten so much food and didn't forget to put my saddle down to the correct height...
Doug & co did it in 3' 55" while Rob did it in 4' 10" with me coming in a couple of minutes after Rob
What's gonna happen in this Darley Moor race on Saturday I dunno... I'll be happy if I don't get dropped TBH

I was supposed to be doing Darley Moor circuit race on Saturday 12th. I was really looking forward to it but woke up with a sore throat on Thursday and just knew I was in for a beating.
Woke up Friday morning with the most horrendous aches all over my body - eyes, sinuses, head, teeth, neck, lower back, legs, well pretty much everywhere. I couldn't eat, could barely walk, & I couldn't sleep for long, waking up every 15 mins because I was burning up. Throwing the quilt off so I could cool down, fall back to sleep then wake up 10 mins later shivering because I was freezing. Waking up just because the pain was so strong I couldn't stay asleep... fucking hell I dread to think how much it hurts to have a proper illness.
So all in all, a lot of pain, and no food for 38 hours... anyone who dismisses bad colds as 'man flu' - I wish it on you and all your family. Twice.
Thinking back to last Sunday, apart from riding a lot harder than I'm used to, I wasn't at all warm enough, so 100 miles of cold hard riding no doubt left me with a weakened immune system. Should have worn that windproof jersey that Danwenskiing forced me to buy...

Yeah, post race i hung about for ages before riding 12 miles home with Rob & Doug. I remember reading about that being the worst thing for marathon runners & cyclists to do. Would have taken some clothes with me if I had a car
i need, or want, more dragon stout
getting drunk and letting it all out on the internet
