Me and Rob are doing this tomorrow - Meeting at Cock's Moor at 8ish. I'm not officially entering though as I'm skint. Anyone fancy it?

The Mad March Hare is a mini-Sportive taking place on Sunday 6th March 2011.

The event is intended as a warm-up for the summer calendar of Sportives. Because of the unpredictable weather and shorter days, we've kept the distance manageable on fast and safe, open country roads which will take riders through quiet, beautiful North Worcestershire 'chocolate-box' villages and hamlets.

The route is generally flat except for a couple of tasty climbs and then we've thrown in a heavy going route home, enough to test the fittest of riders' legs! This year the route is slightly different again...and we're keeping the entry fee as low as possible at 10.00

You can expect the following for your entry fee:
    A safe, quiet, picturesque route
    A clearly way-marked route with day-glo signage.
    Route-card backup.
1 Feed station, food and drinks will be provided.
    Individual Times for all
    Professional photography of the event
    HQ with toilets
    FREE offroad parking
FREE Hot/Cold Drinks before and after your ride
FREE Bacon Baps & Hot Dogs after your ride
Professional Mechanic available before and after the event
    Trade Stands

The HQ for the event is Cult Racing Cycles, Poolhead Lane, Earlswood.. For a map click here.

  • BTW its 75 miles and I'm meeting Rob at 0830

  • Bacon & Hot Dogs?

What if you're a Jewish vegan?

  • I'd want tofu-pups for £10

  • I was gong to do this but havent got time,450 riders have signed up should be a great day

  • Bacon & Hot Dogs?

What if you're a Jewish vegan?

    Then....

    Refreshments
Free Tea/Coffee and Squash will be available at the HQ throughout the day. When you get back to
the HQ the Scouts will have set up their catering tent, exchange your number for a Free Bacon Bap.
A limited veggie option will be available too.

    Feed Station
The feed station will be located approx 500m after the summit of Dovers Hill. It will have basic
provisions, water, bananas, cake and flapjacks as well as some basic spares and a floor pump. The
station is on the right hand side of he road, take care crossing the road when you arrive and
    leave.

  • I only got as far as the word bacon when I turned on 'full internet outrage mode'... as usual.
Don't understand bacon, it's like pig bottom isn't it?

  • Mmmmm, pigs bottom.

  • Grosssssss.

  • I was a bit annoyed TBH. Its like they assume everyone likes bacon.

Why you would even want bacon sarnies and hot dogs after riding 74 miles I dunno. It;s not the first post-cycling food choice that comes into my head anyway...

Im not gonna lie, I aint vegan or even vegetarian anymore, but still hate it when theres no vegetarian option

  • I used to love 'fakin bacon' - the soya version. It stank though, my ex-wife would only let me cook it when she was in another state, seriously.

  • Grosssssssssss.

  • I probably only liked it because I was drunk.
Maybe that's why people like meat bacon, everyone's drunk.

  • ^^ are you German?

  • Jaaaaaaaa.

  • I knew a German, she was odd.

  • What are you trying to say?

  • that she was probably drunk too

  • Not me then.

  • I have to admit I think bacon tastes quite nice, after years of being disgusted by it. But that's only if I ignore the fact that it's dead animal. Which is quite repulsive

  • I had a bad bacon experience when I was vegan. Woken up by a very strong smell of bacon, was disgusted but thought 'it's only next door neighbours'. Til I realised it was the x gf's parents cooking bacon IN MY FRYING PAN

  • I like my animals to be furry and fluffy and smiling and happy...

    and OUTSIDE!!!!.

Fuck a bunch of my gf's cats, ugh.

  • the x gf's parents cooking bacon IN MY FRYING PAN

    way over the line

  • Not me then.

no, she wasn't you, unless you were 33 in 1998 and lived in NHG

  • she might've been 28 though, or 38, or any age really, I was drunk.
