....but come on, we've got plenty of ride ideas, old and new, and there's no better and more varied place for organising them than London. Let's just do them.

Or if something goes really bad you can take a copper hostage, worked for me in the past, that time when I fell behind on the Bridges Run.
you fell behind on the bridges run, what happened? did you have to resolve quantum and euclidean mathematics?

And now you're happily married and expecting your first child. Such a lovely story.
The courts are trying to force the term 'rape' on the whole thing, but I think it's such a loaded word, I instructed my legal council to use the phrase 'surprise sex'.

I sorted the quantum shit out by Vauxhall Bridge - it was spherical geometry and it's part in pan-lexicographical socio-lesbotic-hermeneutics that leadened my legs.

It's its, not 'it's'

I struggle with that.

The quotation marks are clouding the issue.

Thanks to Velocio for starting this thread.
I welcome the fact that many on the forum have recognised that we have genuine concerns and am pleased that to read some interesting ideas on the way forward be it night rides or very early morning starts.
As I said in my original message, I am happy to discuss this and meet to do so if that helps. No “trap” – just a desire to make a safe environment for our workers and competitors.
I do understand the desire to have the opportunity to cycle on closed roads and in fact am part of a group looking at closing the roads in London for a mass cycle which has initial backing from the Mayor’s office.

Ah, what 'mass cycle' is that, Nick? Any details you can reveal yet?

BTW, you'll need a few more posts before you can edit out the formatting (if you want to).

It's not called the sky ride is it?

Nickcheers for piping up in the thread Nick.
i think someone should take up this offer, with future years in mind too. personally i've never even been on a forum ride yet* so i'm not the best person to represent and say what we can realistically do.
*been in Ldn less than two months, plan on doing plenty

It was going to get squashed, whenever the opening post was lodged.
There was much fun and cameraderie in 2010, but some seriously hariy moments as well. The people setting up the stands, and first aid stations, were not expecting cyclist to be flying down roads at speed, and I spotted more than one near miss, with volunteers and marshals walking out in front of cyclists, they were not expecting to be there.
Night ride is by far, the best way forward.
**TO ALL OF YOU GUYS! **
Im the one who put the thread early im the one to blame...im truly sorry for messing this up but now this is real reason of why i put it so early:
" AFTER a recovery of a fatal accident on my bike which miraclesly i survive, braking my knee, 4 ribs, split open my head, break my shoulder, wake up 6 weeks later in hospital and panic for 3 years to get on to a bike....this was the first ride i ever had in london with the LFGSS, the friendship i found and make with some of the guys, is something i did not expect (BERNIE , JANUS.... ) so im glad i did it, thats why i put this thread so early, cos i wouldnt let it past, i would not risk not to do it again, as what that ride last year meant to me ,to jump a big step on my fear of cycling, i found myself confy again on a bike, i felt safe on a bike for the first time in 3 years, nevermind the initial speed to get there which i though ill pee myself!!!!.
thats the reason, ill mess it up im sorry, apologise to all of you guys, from the bottom of my heart.
NOW WHY I DECIDE TO MAKE IT PUBLIC:
first cos im not a mind reader, i didnt know that message you send me it meant to be anonimous, let me know next time, thanks.
second:cos this is something that it will affect to all of us as cyclist, and in the cycling community, imagine if all goes quiet, we get there and police start to arreest people, etc etc, it will be on the papers...bad fame...drama...i put the add i could have public liability for this, if anything happend! dont know dont want to find out.
NIGHT RIDE: way to go. im in you can beat me up there if you want to guys (:( hope not).
NOW FOR THE 3 COWARDS WITH ANONIMOUS EMAILS!!!!:
I didnt planed this to get fucked, for those who blame me...well i couldnt give a monkey ass to be honest, know you got 2 problems, been pist off cos at me, and the problem of getting over it.
please just refrain from sending me anonimous email, telling me things like "w@mker you fuch it up" and staff like that...you loosing your time. you can find me in central london on daily basis on my bike, stop me and tell this to me on my face ive got "chrome bianchi pista, "spanish, polish flag and my name BEARFOOT is on my backpack" so go for it, i truly prefer it that way, i dont mind to pay dentist bills for you guys! or we can just meet ,send me another anonimous email so we can arrange a meeting and "talk" it throw. IDIOTs, this ride meant to me more than would ever meant to you.ESCUSE ME MY SPANGLISH!!!

Forward the three emails to me (david@buro9.com), but please make sure to include the full headers so that I can see the original IP addresses and timestamps (in Gmail this means "View Original" and then cutting and pasting that text to me).
People bullying you over this really isn't on. This community stinks when we let people get away with being dicks to others in the community.
And don't think you're to blame, all that would've happened if it were kept quiet is that we would have had a run-in with the police on the day. Best to know that in advance and do something about it as some of us who like to travel to the USA and hold jobs with security clearance really do not want to be surprised by run-ins with the police.

I agree that it isn't bearfoot's fault at all, but apart from run-ins with police I'm sure Nick would have been in touch, anyway--would be nice if you could confirm that, Nick.

+1.
Those having a go a Bearfoot should be truly ashamed of themselves. Pretty sure they will be a trio of keyboard warriors who never contribute, and rarely ride, but are skilled at throwing stones from the side lines.

We should get 5th Floor to bash em up.
