Discovery? In January? That's not right.

The lagerisation of bitter has been creeping up on us for years. Summer ale was just the thin end of a wedge whose fat end we are now at the end of. Um, er, disco disco disco.

Tim it is a real shame but fully understand the work issue, it's the football one though, I just don't get it could you not play subbuteo it's gotta be close to the real thing hasn't it?

Yes to the former. Scarily close to the latter.
Oh, and Sam, Harry says we're doing just fine thanks ; )

Are you drunk for the first time in a while?
-
• #4810
The drinking starts in earnest once you've spawned.

Went out and did the widowmaker this morning. Beautiful crisp morning and I didn't realise how gorgeous that route is what with the darkness. Will be out hammering the Hemel route next week in prep for new season.
Also that was test of new, climbing-friendly frameset. Less pain ftw!

I will not be able to organise TNRC this year for two reasons. i) Due to increased work commitments and ii) an extended football career. The old body can't handle two consecutive evenings of professional sport and I have decided to play football instead of TNRC because I won't be able to play for much longer yet I hope to be able to cycle until well into my 43rd year
You'll only wreck your knees playing football, better stick with just cycling.

I read that as "stick with just crying", which as a west brom fan you are well used to. Not sure how it would effect your knees, other than water on the knee from so many tears.

I hear you Oliver but it's the last throw of the dice.
Mat that depression thread is good fun and I occasionally visit just to remind myself what a wonderful life i have but if I was mentally ill with depression it would fucking send me over the edge for sure. I'd rather get a season ticket at The Hawthorns

• #4815
That would make you depressed and lonely.

I'm looking to be riding this year, have got a decent front light at last. Going through a bit of a moving nightmare at the mo, so when that's all sorted I'll be ready. Planning to do the E4 Ecstasy next week sometime.
When does the season kick off?
-
• #4817
Mid March going by previous years. The weather might influence the decision on exactly when.
-
• #4819
Yeah. Every Tuesday.

Failed massively on TNRC love last year. Only managed a single deluxe.
-
• #4821
I'm going on the turbo tonight. I've not got the right bike set-up to go out, and had enough of ~zero degrees during a hundred fixed miles on Sunday.
-
• #4822
If the weather's similar to last weekend I'll be out doing either 5 hills or hemel fix it on saturday morning. If anyone fancies coming along gimme a shout.
PS would be great to see you out more sam, sad I missed both deludes last year due to shitty work commitments.
