I had extremely disturbed sleep last night, thanks to a dream centred around a very institutional redbrick building. Lots of TNRC people were in it - I knew that's who they were, although their faces were indistinct. Amidst a whole heap of shit involving dematerialising ghostly apparations, windows, fear, etc, I intermittently popped my head around one particular ground floor door, to check on purple_mj (at the behest of other TNRC members present).
Each time, he was kneeling down on the floor in front of a changing mat, sorting out the nappy of the baby girl who was lying there. There was also a boy, upper end of toddler status, wandering around the room. He was covered in smears of excrement, and was transferring it to everything he touched or walked past.
The situation was identical each time I went back to the room, as if absolutely no progress had been made in cleaning up the boy, or in getting a new nappy on the baby girl. purple_mj stated that he was fine on each occasion, but I had my doubts, and was growing increasingly worried - both about the well-being of the children, and the mental health of purple_mj. When the rest of the non-specific TNRC members asked where purple_mj was, or how he was getting on, I guiltily said 'fine' because I didn't want to tarnish his reputation for being pragmatic and unflustered.
Looking forward to tonight's ride.
Just as i thought i was beginning to understand BMMF :-)

I believe that the dream stemmed from his need to be misunderstood.

Fuck, batteries! My light stopped working last night and I didn't put it on charge this morning... I was going to stealth onto the south ride but now will just get takeout and drink beer.
If you still fancy the South ride, then I can bring a spare Exposure for you, fully charged and everything, let me know and I will meet you at Otford station?

Gav, I'll be bringing a spare fenix which you can borrow or use as back-up if your exposure runs out.
But what about my takeaway and beer?

No, it seems not.

It's not looking good for my attendance tonight at Otford. Martin will be the perfect lead for this ride anyway IMHO.
Just remember the tight left hand bend descending Sundridge Hill, the 'straight ahead left turn' after the descent of Ide Hill (aka Tika's Turn), the fact that's it's the first left once you've gone through Bough Beech and under the railway bridge (signposted Bore Place and Bough Beech Bird Centre), and that the second left-handed downhill corner is tighter than the first one on the section between Knowle Park and Stone Street.
I'll make the official announcement later!
