  • I thought you broke your back or something?

    In light recommendations:
Smart Lunar R1. Has a group ride setting. Nuclear cherry bomb is turned OFF and the two LEDs underneath are on and set to NOT FLASH.

20 quid. Though you could probably price match it. And it comes with the ever reliable smart switching technology of "have I turned it on properly".

If anyone wants to illegally do the Rumble or something similar on SUNDAY, I'd be interested.

I think Planet-X are doing them for £11 at the moment, and various other retailers for under £15. This setting with the big light off and the little lights on is exactly what I said would be useful when andyp used to so rudely blind us all.

I'd get one, but my Mars 3.0 and Lunar 1/2W aren't broken.

  • ^^looking like a 2nd ride might be on the cards…

I'll give it a go with ya

  • Likewise, if it's okay to rattle along.

I just had a look at the rumble website and was slightly disappointed to find that the bonafied places have sold out.

  • Oh good. A Sunday jaunt with the Pain Brothers and other geary grupetto monsters.

  • I'll be gentle! And hopefully a little bit dulled after tracking it on Saturday.

  • @ bmmf - 2nd ride does seem an option. a flatter one if I have anything to do with it. (talk later bmmf on the phone when is a good time to call?)
@ Damo - thinking of going out there sunday mate but i don't do early.

    Hey, get your own thread...

  • If only somebody had started a Sunday thread.

    Recovery ride.

I'm in for a sunday plod.

  • I don't do *telephonic *stuff. It all gets too awkward. Massive pragmatics fail. A good time to call is never.

  • Not sure if this is the right place, but on the subject of TNRC routes, if anyone was planning on doing the E4 Ecstasy this Sunday (March 6th), be aware that parts of the route will be occupied by racing cyclists between about 10am and 1pm. Single up if you hear a gasping shout behind you.

  • Me, Paul, Jaygee and DommyRacer are all doing it Little Mo. Just deliberating now but likely to have a 9am start.

    cough and me.

  • for rumblers: can we get a list over here http://www.lfgss.com/thread58363.html

    The Crest race?

Seems it's venturing a fair way from race HQ or did you mean the Roydon route?

  • ^Hainault Hilly 50k.

  • Ah. A time trial. Your top of the google list for "Hainault Hilly 50k" by the way.

That explains the gasping shout as opposed to the fear-of-death scream you'd get from a rider at the front of the bunch.

  • ^Hainault Hilly 50k.

If you're still out on course at 1pm you are bang in trouble!

  • If there were 90 riders, with a 10am event start, finishing around 1pm isn't that bad for the last few riders off.

I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with the 47x14 fixed, so despite being off about 11am, you never know…

  • "hilly" on a 90" ?

It's wrong, so very horribly wrong. I would cry if I was able.

I'm off 10 behind you, I reckon you'll be ok, only really Theydon Mount and the small kick up to the right hand turn into Banks Lane on the way out to Toot Hill that'll have you gurning on that gear I think - both mercifully short though. Be warned, if you havent ridden this route recently, the road surface between Banks Lane and Mount Road is seriously shit, gravelly (particularly the junction with Banks Lane) and loads of pot holes pretty much the entire length. The better line is over to the right on the way back, but if people are still on course (me!) and on their way up, that line may not be available...
