• Pretty Shitty.
I cracked the seattube where it meets the bottombracket, its completely fucked but luckily i noticed before catastrophic failure occurred.
I think it was just fatigue from all the breaking force and of course my awesome pedal power. I don't think i will be able to find a frame that nice again, i need to work out if its repairable.
Check your Argos Joe, maybe its an inherent Argos trait ill give my other one a check over know :)

Glad you got home safe, really shitty thing to happen, hope it can be fixed.

Just got home from Cambridge. Had a great ride but pretty knackered now.

Big thanks to Skully and skive for leading. Brilliant day out.

    Oh, and Happy Birthday Chainbreaker

  • Just got home. That was awesome. Feeling a little tired but not too bad.
Thank you to skully and skive for organizing and leading and was great to meet some new people and finally put interwebz names to faces.
Shit news about the argos rowan, hope its repairable.
    Hope everyone gets home safe.

Oh and massive thanks to matt and jim for helping me with the punctures and then the guy who gave me a new tube, many thanks
oh and then everyone laughing at my inability to put on a bloody chain......!

  • This was my first ride fixed, and it was definitely an experience. I'm really not used to going down hills in that cadence or going up them like that either. Note to self: carry less useless stuff. I really enjoyed meeting all you guys and there was a very friendly feel to the group and I'd love to come along to future rides.

Big thanks to all the leaders who were very conscientious about keeping us all together.
    (Alex)

  • what a ride.
amazing weather, no wrong turns, great crew, good times.
good to meet new faces and see the rest.

    edit.
    cheers for starting this skully.
and big thanks to all that helped marshall and back stop.

I saw all you lot while out for a bit of a jolley myself today......I decided to check on here to see if it was you lot......I was on the Hetchins as you turned left at the junction just down from Epping....I gave aout a lot of 'morning's' and just kept seeing more of you coming round the corner!!!

Fair play doing that fixed ;O)

  • I saw you - near the church? Spotted some curly stays so guessed it was a Hetchins!

  • Ian looked shocked when I shouted at him at brick lane this morning

  • Thanks Skully and Skive for organising such a good ride. Nice meeting forum people in person and all. Perfect Sunday ride really.

  • just got out of the bath. tired, happy, no longer smelly.

skully you are a wonderful man and ride-organiser, thanks to you and to everyone else for keeping the pace to something i could (mostly) do. ace day and lovely to make some new acquaintances - its nearly a year since i've been on a forum ride.

i owe loads of people about two pounds - corny, jenne (for guinness),the girl with the cinelli, the guy who was with the girl with cinelli - don't let me forget.

Looked good fun............I will have to check this thread regularly, Cambridge is one of my favourite places and a regular ride for me....Short ride 60 miles round trip, long version 80 miles+beer...

  • Rowan - bad luck with the frame, beautiful too, really suited you. glad you got home okayish.

thanks for a great day out y'all.

currently sitting in my mum's kitchen eating toast pretending not to be drunk o_O

  • Shit luck with the frame Rowan.....
I'm sure Argos can replace a seat tube for about £80 and then you will have an excuse to get a new paint job!

  • Gutted for you Rowan, that frame's lovely.

There were a number of reasons I couldn't come today, all boring. I made the right decision but looking out the window when I got up this morning at the beautiful weather I was majorly jealous.

  • What an awesome day! Just out of the bath (I bathed) and about to head to bed. Guapo and I had a great time and am glad to have gone on it though the commute will be quite slow tomorrow. Hope I can keep my head during my Day of Meetings tomorrow.

XX everyone! Wish I'd asked more people their names. Please don't be sad if I see you sometime in the future and don't remember your name...

  • ^ I'll kick you under the table if you start drifting off

Oscar and I were in Cambridge and did a punt then took the open top tourist bus - looked out for you guys as was dying to DAS y'all from the top of the bus but, alas, did not see. We were going to hang around and catch you for a drink but we woz cold and didn't know where you were.
