its an offshoot of start fitness (which is on pilgrim street and sells mainly running gear). im pretty impressed with them so far. good customer service and really competitive pricing. i got a heart rate monitor from them recently. couldnt find it online for cheaper and they even threw in some free brake cables and wheel spacers after a bit of sweet talking.

really nice guys in there, supposedly a guy who used to work at dave yates building frames now works there. got some GORE gloves from there, quality. the guy was sweet as fuck and did staff discount on em as well.

OFFICIALLY SLATING THIS SHOP. sold a waterproof, recommended by one of the staff (told it was waterproof, and would put up with anything!).
turns out not to be waterproof, only 'resistant', aka fucking useless.
go back to shop, within 3 weeks of purchase, not to return, but upgrade to something better.
had the receipt and tags.
explain to the manager, he just argues saying that the label of the jacket doesnt claim it to be waterproof. i explain that i was misinformed by one of his staff. he refuses to even exchange it, and is a real arsehole about the whole affair.
breached consumer rights, would never spend another penny in that place.

.... would never spend another penny in that place. You try yer best to support local businesses and this is what you get, poor aftersales service. Realistically though, he was never going to exchange this after you'd proved it wasn't waterproof (got it well and trully soaked?) Still, WAC!
And the moral of the story is, never trust a salesman, only your own judgement. They just want your money, after all.
Are you now running out of bike shops in Toon you can/will frequent?

Sorry to say but I really like start, it's a food shop and the staff are really canny lads. Good prices too. I understand with the whole miss selling off the jacket thing but I've never really had a problem there, hoping I don't

I went into Start cycles today to pick something up (no need for particular assistance), but I was served with zero vocal communication. The guy threw my purchase at me in a bag, and didn't say a word from start to finish. How rude! Won't be going there again. LAME.

i was undercharged by £8 on a knog backlight because the salesperson was incompetent. i fucking love incompetence sometimes.

Do they have a good range of spok?
If not, I'm out.

They are nice guys but I found that they were a bit lacking in stock. I prefer Denton's personally, the guys there are really helpful like.

Thanks guys
Just went in the shop today and it is fooking massive... loads of good quality stuff in there, especially the tt stuff. Does anyone no anything about it? is it a chain? They seem to have loads of stock for a shop that has just opened! Also are the services any good?
