This was a memed ride.
It was very good. Danny Williams' blog post is up here:
I expect that other bloggers will follow suit.
Now we have to keep up the pressure and ensure that this wasn't a one-off!
Good to see |³|MA3K, spybot, and Dropout, and I've probably missed a few others who were along.

Very well, but then you will already have seen that on the other thread.

Hah. I want them to be merged so my posts make more sense (though still not much).

• #44
No worries. Come along next time. There'll no doubt be more where this one came from. :)

The latest on Blackfriars is this... the road layout that TfL are going to go ahead with is still rubbish, and there's probably not much any of us can do about that. However, some sympathetic Assembly Members are tabling a motion to try and force the Mayor to keep the speed limit for cars down to 20mph (what it is at present) instead of the current plans to push it up to 30mph.
Background info from my blog;

And you can sign a petition to support the AMs via the new-look London Cycling Campaign website here:

the design is still godawful, and dangerous. accepting the sop of 20mph and putting up with the lousy design still seems like rolling over to me - and a bit of a waste of the energy that has been created around this. it's not like tfl doesn't have a better design waiting in the wings.
we should be asking for this (with 2m cycle lanes throughout), not just 20mph.

I totally agree that it is still god awful, Chameleon. I think the LCC are probably doing their best considering the time constraints on this junction, I don't know what their stance is on other designs or if they've got anything waiting in the wings. Perhaps Oliver C can fill us in?
I suspect that they are approaching things on a piece by piece basis - there may well be room for more improvements but each improvement (of which retaining 20mph is one) has to be addressed one at a time. That's why I've signed the support of the motion in the hope that we can do this one thing at a time.
