Which rim would be the best for both 32-35C CX tyres, and 25C road tyres- the Crest?
Or is that rim too wide?
I'd be happy running a crest with a 25mm tyre. Exactly how this combination effects the bead lock for tubeless. I cant answer.

I've got a TN719 on the front- so that was going to be my choice on the rear when I replace that.
The TN719 gives a nice U shaped profile to a 25C tyre, and it does feel comfortable whilst rolling well.
Stick with them or try this new fangled tubeless stuff?

I find it odd that the TN719 isn't as wide as the A319 despite costing a little more.
What I find astounding is the disc-only rims tend to weight a lots less, i.e. the Crest's at 390g.

TN719 is 510g.
I'm just going to go and self harm.

self harm / fitting tubeless, it's all good.

I think I'll stick with the TN719's, the Hollowgram Si cranks that go on tomorrow will drop half a kg in weight to make up for my fat rims.

Oh Neil, you really ought to try my Genesis...

As it has the rims we are discussing here?

As in the overall weight of the CdF, make the Boardman look like an anorexia in denial.

Not as bad as the Jamis Bosa Nova, weighting a staggering 28.5lbs (according to Jamis).

Been looking at the Kinesis crosslight pro6. I'd take its aggressive racing design, and ruin it with 50/34 to 11-32 gearing, with bar end shifters. I'd probably put a rear rack on it too.
Still looks like it would be a great ride, even after I've fecked it though.

get behind me in the queue. I am using A319s at around 600g combined with 47c Schwalbe Land Cruisers at 800g+ each.
The rest of the bike is pretty light so is almost defeating the object but the feeling of grip and confidence provided by the relatively massive tyres is more than worth the weight. -

Light, with low tread. I've seen plenty of reports of folk running them tubeless. So combin them with some Stans crest rims, and run them at a nice low PSI.
Would half the rotating weight of your set-up, reduce punctures, and enhance grip. Probably a touch slower on tarmac though.

They would look entertaining on my Boardman.
Weight- I've honestly never considered the weight of any components on the Boardman, it is my training bike/bike of all work rather than the spoiled thoroughbred.
As such, it's 4kg heavier than my other bike.
I'm changing the cranks due to the infamous BB30 bearing install issue that almost all of these bikes suffer from- any out of the saddle effort is accompanied by "crack! crack! crack!".
That the new cranks are almost half the weight is a happy side benefit.

Claim weight of the Boardman CX is 22lbs, two pounds lighter than the CdF.

I don't give a fiddlers curse what the published weight is, on my scales it hits 10.5kg, with quite a lot of new parts on it.

23lbs it is then.
fattie.

I like hack bike to be nice and heavy. Better training, and more appreciation for the weekend bike.

that why I have 33.3c tyres, going to be interesting in the TNRC with other riding 23-25c.

how did you find the green version? I can only see white, black and red on the product page.

Green was a custom job for singletrack bike mag

Daaaamn!!
The 25c is right on the threshold with the Crest (IMHO) but it give a nice U shape profile rather than an bulb profile.
That and the ability to run a lower pressure too, making it feel more comfortable as if it's a 28-30c tyres.
I can tell you the disadvantage of such set-up - no pinch puncture, odd to label that as a disadvantage, but with no pinch puncture, may cause rims damage if hit an invisible pothole way too fast at a ridiculously low pressure (my own fault);
Luckily managed to save that rims by bending the lips, and filing it down carefully.
