  • Sell it to me then ;)

  • Anyone need some wheels 15mm front and qr rear

    https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/301127/

Stans ZTR rims, inc. tape and valves for tubeless - freshly serviced and trued!

    Only £65!

  • Who wants some canti mount forks? Full carbon?

Who wants a 52 cm caadx, canti mount, silver?

  • Yeah. I was waiting for an answer from them on my "buy my forks" post.

  • Is there anything with Thru Axles and Shimano 105 around £1000?
Not gonna use it for CX but need something of that style, clearance for big tyres (the bigger, the better) also pretty important.

Canyon Endurance AL DISC 6.0 looks great but maybe there's other options for the price point?

  • Thoughts on tubeless summer tyres? I'm thinking of getting G ones? Anyone running nanos?

  • I had tubeless g-ones on my cross bike and they are awesome!

I am forced to change as I damaged my cross frame and picked up a cheap road disc frame to tide me over but the 35mm g-ones rub my chainstay.

  • Does that mean you have some for sale? ;)

  • Do indeed, plus stans tubeless valves :)

  • With the goal of racing this winter; which wheels for both training on the road and racing (well, finishing and not getting in the way too much) cyclocross? Disc brakes and tubeless. Quick release but pref convertible for a future project.

  • How much €€€

  • About €500. A bit less means more beers but if fewer beers mean noticable better wheels than I will gladly suffer.

  • Hope pro 4

  • 24/28h novatec laced to Kinlin xr22t. Should be a little over 1500g and less than £200, plenty left over for beers (and a bearing upgrade if you're feeling spendy).

  • ^ this. Shimano or Hope hubs if you want to up the bomb proof rating.

  • I've always found novatec hubs to be solid and I'm no lightweight.

  • @Howard @Jon. Also interested in this question (maybe the wrong thread), buying prebuilt online (where?) Spoke choice?

Also considering a second wheelset after my commuter stole the rear wheel of my current spare set.

Running Hope Pro 2 to Archetypes, which I got from here 2nd hand for a good price. I would like the second set to be either ~as good, or am wondering how much I would have to spend to have something noticeably better. Have considered hunt £400 alloy or £1000 carbon (which depth), or bontrager affinity elite (not strictly tubless so would probably run with tubes) from evans on cycle to work. Whichever were 'better' would likely become the mainly road pair, so would be happy for them to be more fragile but lighter/more aero with the other set having a cx tyre on for rougher rides.

Am tempted by hope hubs again, mainly with the intent that it puts the rotor in the same place (does anyone know if all hope hubs have the same rotor position?).

Are Kinlin xr22t disc only? It would seem nice to avoid a brake track when one isn't needed and I would have thought one could get a better/lighter rim if happy to be disc only?

  • These are back in stock. £150 with platinum discount.

  • I'd spend a bit more and get these instead: https://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;product=140135

    Thru axle compatible ..

  • More thinking of bearing longetivity than the shell to be honest.

  • ja aber wo ist das haribo

  • Just ordered a set of the Cosines, and it would appear the front wheel is Thru Axle compatible...(I only have QRs, but it definitely seemed like it was) Would be interestign to confirm it though as I don't really know what I'm looking for.

You can see the split line that runs around the QR entry/exit and that bit pops in and out easily with your fingers to reveal a bigger hole - which I'm presuming you can fit a TA in.

  • You'd need new end caps for a TA, assuming that is TA compatible.

I have some novatech hubs - that look like those - that are not TA compatible even though the end caps are removable for servicing.

  • they look VERY similar to Novatec D772SB and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6O7vrQux4g
suggests you can replace the axle to convert to thru axle
