Not much point upgrading the wheels just to make it a little bit lighter.
Race wheels though, Ed. Weight's kind of an issue there.Edit - commuting, not racing. never mind. Thought I'd opened the CX race thread.

You could argue that it's important for prommuter.

That Strava segment between the traffic light outside the hospital is very important.

Disc or not? TBF they're still good, just bad luck on my part where all the spokes popped out at once when the rims bent.

Non disc and that doesn't bode well for cx

Scirocco cx 35, sub £200
I did 3 peaks on the non cx version a few years ago and they were fine.
Not tubeless and a bugger to ghetto convert unless they've upgraded them in the last couple of years. -

Campag wheels with SRAM feels... Wrong

I doubt you're gonna hit a pothole at 30mph during a cyclocross session.

DT Swiss R24 is a good alternative to the Fulcrum.
-
• #3965
Will look into them, ta.

At my age lfy is all about prommuting...

At my age
Ho pls, I probably have T-shirts older than you.
-
• #3968
I second this - DT Swiss R24 are a way better wheel for the money than the Fulcrums in my opinion, having ridden both

Ooo, I'll show my other half, ta!

Ed, I live on the 9th floor and sometimes elevator is out of order, so -1kg will help a lot in my prommuting to 9th floor.
And with 300gbp I can't solve the new apartment problem, obviously. :)Those DT swiss R24 are rim or disc brake operated?
TY!

shaving 200-300g won't make it any easier I'm afraid! (use to live in similar setting, end up just using a fixed wheeler instead).

Only thing missing is a junior drop levers (Tektro) and bar end for east of use.
If you're gonna spend £300 on a wheelset, you can put that toward the 105 hydraulic brakes instead.
Not much point upgrading the wheels just to make it a little bit lighter.
