Seeing as I'd be riding SS a long-pull lever (Tektro RL520 or the Cane Creek version) would solve issues with rim clearance, no?
edit: maybe that'd be too much pull, afterall.

it would, it would also alter the braking power, in a bad way.

so finally picked up my commutocross from evans. alot lighter than i thought it was gonna be and despite the evans mechanic "setting" it up for me it feels pretty good. just wish it had a few less logos on it but i can sort that with some black paint or something.
how i collected it
and after a couple of minutes playing with it
i'll get some better pictures tomorrow in daylight.

Looks promising. Is that a large spacer stack hiding in the shadows?

yes, i'll be doing a 60 mile round commute on it and won't be getting off it at any point to walk. my other bikes have looks on so didn't want to get another pair of shoes or be swapping cleats over etc.

• #2072
Any off road on your commute, or will you be putting some different tyres on?
-
• #2073
yeah, about a mile of fields, between 2 and 10 miles of tow path depending on what route I take and about 5 or so miles of loose cycle path, thats each way which is about 32 miles in total so just under half will be off road.

It's nice when part of the commute doesn't involve mad people trying to flatten you with a metal box ;-)
Even nicer when most of the commute is off road.
I take it you wont be doing that 5 days a week?

I assume everyone is as lazy as me.
It'd be both raced on and ridden on the road. I'll probably stick with my Avid Shortys for now - I've got a pretty nasty ding on my rear wheel that I can't perfectly true out so that may be an issue with the mini Vs. I'll need a new wheelset eventually so upgrading both at the same time makes sense.
