They might just be one figure out- so instead of 1,450g it should read 2,450g.
I might get a Pompetamine instead.

Uncle John would be better, surely?
In other news I'm seriously considering a Van Dessel G&T frameset. Full disc. BB30.
Anyone want my 51cm CAADX frameset? Never crashed <---- a lie.

Why? Because its got those funky dropouts that allow you to go SS or geared?
FWIW I really liked my uncle john

I don't doubt that - but I was under the impression Dammit was going for Alu, disc and 1* 10.
That looks cold! Looking forward to a bit of that this year...

Had a quick look at the Uncle John, then got distracted by the Dirty Disco frameset bundle, then had to be on a conference call.

This is why I want to have something for mucking about offroad that is not the Boardman:
It's safe to say that it's the bike that gets used the most and in the biggest variety of conditions.

Hadn't seen the dirty disco bundle, interesting.

• #1836
It's very tempting isn't it?
-
• #1837
whilst there's a lot of componentry for the price, the px built up would be firmly over the 1k threshold.
which, having played with it, makes the crosslight pro6 the tempting prospect!
i dunno, for bashing it around the cotswolds, i'm not convinced anything more than a cheap milnes frame with kinesis fork is warranted...
but the crosslight, soo nice, gah!

I'd have a similar use in mind, thrashing around along bridle ways and so on around Winchester, which makes me wonder about the tyre choice.
Tubs are great for low pressure/high grip use- but most Cyclocross is round a field, so if you puncture it's not a disaster as you either rode there on different wheels which are leaning against a fence, or you drove.
If (say) you were in the middle of the South Downs Way and you punctured a tub then that's a different kettle of fish.
Therefore, the wheels the Dirty Disco frameset bundle comes with look cool, but for my intended use, probably not the best choice- unless the liquid latex stuff you can put in them really would be enough on its own to defeat malicious thorns/flints/bit's of glass for 100 miles of countryside.

If smashing on the South Downs, tubeless is defintely a better idea than tubs.
I'm too interested in the Dirty Disco, reckon that'll shed quite a handful of weight off my CdF with almost identical geometry.

That was my thinking, convert my TN719's to tubeless with the Stans kit/whatever.
Michelin Mud 2's can be used I believe, and I have a pair of those that Zed is currently using so could probably do it for a fairly low cost.
Of course, I'd prefer not to share one wheelset between two bikes but it would make things cheaper.

As some of you chumps may know I bought the dirty disco and raced it at Muddy Hell and Rapha Supercross at Ally Pally the same weekend.
I have been nothing but blown away with it. It's almost as light as my campag carb/ti groupset'd tune mig maged cervelo.
The wheels (not the carbon ones) stodd up well to both races and haven't deformed at all.
My only problem is that shit groupset

Buy the bundle and sell the wheels to me.

Sorry, but I've never liked SRAM, and never will. Predominantly it's the obvious let down of the shifting type. Campag designed and patented the best and most ergonomic design. Shimano got in there with the second best alternative and SRAM have had to take what was left. Shifting at all with a brake lever is plain wrong, but both up and down is just awful.
Also the shift feels terrible, so clunky and heavy. I don't like it. My only positive is that a fall left the right lever 'popped out' of its position which was easy to get back in.
I will be burning the SRAM from the disco the moment the new fully hydraulic DI2 cross system comes out next year.

i fucking love the sram shifting system. easier and not that chunky brakelevers

If it comes out next year, surely.
Sure but that still wont be anywhere near the claimed weight of 1400 in this case.
