  • I've managed to do precisely fuck all today.

What with all the excitement, I'm in a right tizzy.

  • Breaking news!
Next year Tweed Runners will have to enter a lottery for places.

Possible Autumn Tweed Run is on the cards!!!!

Makes a lot of sense. No-one can whinge then.

  • Don't worry folks, registration for the Fubu dash starts in 30 mins!

  • the what?

  • Yeah, what the fuck is a fubu?

  • I'll pass...

  • Definitely pass.

  • lolz
    cant rep ya, sorry

  • C'mon, it'll be great!

  • fubu dash is ace guys, free too! no restrictions, vintage 'bu preferred tho.

  • Unless the organisers use an independent third party to do the lottery picking (and pay money to that third-party, diverting funds that could be given to charity), then they will be an easier target for small-time politicians to accuse them of cronyism. It got ugly enough in this thread; just imagine what a lottery would invite.

But then, you could sell the lottery tickets for a nonrefundable price (at least double this year's cost) and raise a fair amount of money rather than collecting funds only from those that registered successfully. Given the interest level, it will probably raise more than enough to cover additional overhead.

It should, however, provide for some mechanism so that people wishing to come as a pair can purchase a 'couple's ticket' or something similar. Having that options will probably assist in selling more lottery tickets.

    Just thinking out loud here...

  • The Fubu Dash

    1. Shinigami
    2. Velo libre
  • No-one can whinge then.

They will though. That's a certainty.

  • whens registration for the tweed run?

  • bugger, i think i may have missed the finely quilted boat

  • How can I attach cleats to these joints?

  • why don't people dress in tweed, organise a ride, call it something and go. the first one was like this ans it was the best thing ever, the second one was great but not as surprising and free spirited, imho
i hope teddy and jaqcuie don't hate me but this is what i think

  • we don't hate you tikka! it's enevitable that things will change as they grow. fact of life.

  • I think this as well.
It's just dressing up on a bike and riding around.

  • did i say something sexist? sorry, I didn't mean it
I do understand that things change and that is why it wasn't my cup of tea this time. What i don't understad is why people can get so winded up because they didn't get in. just they need to do their own thing like you did in the beginning!

  • Shinigami reps

  • The Foo Fighters gig at Dingwalls is also sold out :(
