  • ^ that was the one I ment, no where in soho

  • I may be a little biased, but honestly, the only place I'd bother going nowadays is Clutch if you want proper, proper denim.

SoaS still have some very, very nice stuff, but its a bit hectic in there and staff are a bit hit or miss. Scott, who was the best guy at SoaS, has been at Clutch since its inception. Clutch is insanely chill and the team there are top tier.

  • this place in goodge st is nice

    can get silly expensive tho

  • yeah have to say the staff in there are brilliant

  • It's funny, I say I'd be out priced, but the £240 I put on iron heart 634 natural dye have after 6 or so years of weekend & holiday use just come up to being 'worn'

  • Scott is a really nice guy. As was the chap before him that ended up being poached to run The Real McCoys store. Clutch is just selling too much the lifestyle, for me. It’s just a pair of jeans at the end of the day.

Ruedi and Linda are still the best in London for Japanese denim/workware, though, IMO. But I appreciate they ain’t on the shop floor like they used to be.

  • Thank you all for the extra suggestions - I will check them out.

  • Had a very good experience at Clutch, ended up with some Jelado denim. You could easily spend a lot of money in there.

  • Has anyone dry cleaned their selvedge? I had my jeans fixed at SOAS and they dry cleaned them before fixing... christ... they looked great!!!!! If I ever buy another pair of raw denim, it's the way forward!

  • Did you give them an unwashed pair of jeans to repair? - it's a great tip

  • Nice. Visited today while home from the U.S. and yeah, their stock is on point right now.

  • I did actually... they weren't that bad but they said they'd rather have them clean... cost me £7 but it was a real eye opener at how good they looked... better than any machine wash imho!

  • Sounds like they did the job, to knowing what they're doing

  • Or you could just put them in the washing machine ya nasty people. Wash your jeans! The best looking jeans have all been washed.

  • Also who wants smelly clothes

  • Why is in that you only notice your jeans smell bad when you’re sat next to someone at the start of a long meeting?

  • Would anyone be interested in a worn pair of these in a 33? Wouldn't want a huge amount maybe £50, it's more to get someone to keep wearing them rather than the money. Absolutely amazing pair of jeans, love the feel of the fabric but alas it's a bit too tight for me in the top block/thighs.

  • Bargain at £50!

    Which model is it?

  • What's the crotch and gooch wear like? Any abrasions that are likely to split?

  • whats the leg length please with the cuff as pictured.

  • just a reccomendation for anyone in SW - Yari Tailoring http://www.yaritailoring.co.uk/ in Sheen fixed a crotch and knee hole in a pair of Orslows for £28 and did a really good job

  • Also interested in the leg length...

  • Same Q here on leg length

  • Maybe £50 was too little! Leg length from inseam with double cuff is 64cm or 73cm without cuffs. Crotch area has been repaired and re-inforced by Soldier Blue.

Not sure exact model but it's a slim taper with something like 18oz fabric, super nice

  • Looks like the XX-013 shape. I have a few... yes I realise this is the equivalent of a watch thread post.

Edit: should be a small tag indicating model on edge of front left pocket bag. But will only say something like '13' or '18'.

Edit 2: there have been a few 18 oz-ish variants, including the 'SR-' (super rough), 'EX-' (extra slub), 'SLB-' (super slub £££).
