  • Gotcha. Had the feeling from the pic there was something not great.

  • Those general release 501s are a bit odd, I've seen them before but not very often and only in a Levi's store or TKMaxx...

#eveythingblack 501xx are looking good, sent them to my Somalian seamstress to get the stupid pinholes fixed...

  • Sunday charity shop win. Edwin ED47 rainbow selvedge, look unworn, for £15!

  • Good find, how can you be certain that nobody has worn them, UV light and search for piss stains?

  • look unworn*

    *but probably aren't.

Actually I hope they aren't and have been washed by the shop, not only because of piss stains, but because the length is about spot on as they are.

  • Crappy pic (much darker IRL) but these turned out really well, gonna do it to my APCs now...

  • I need boring work jeans.
Uniqlo do selvedge. Are they still good? Or bad?

A bit papery thin compared to the Japanese denim they sometimes get in but they are cheap. Ditto Gap. I'd take a look in TKMaxx. I found several PRPS last week in Lewisham, most were a bit JLS but there was a nice straight/clean pair.

  • just funded some more gustins...slim fit this time...went for some japan greys. missus says they should be renamed guffed-ins once i've worn them. dooks...not a clue what she's on about.

  • Just picked up a pair of 1947 LVC 501XX in TKMaxx for £30... I NEVER strike lucky in there...

Almsot bought some Bass Weejuns as well, perfect preppie summer outfit...

They're interesting with the pink selvedge detail. Good price tho.

Haha! Oh man, thanks for that. Wearing the grey Gustins now. May bring fwd that 1st wash now.... Ewwww.

Took another 3" off the leg then still need a double turn up. Damn my stumpy legs. Despite all that, I dig the fabric and cut tho. Rocking them in fat giant turn up rockabilly style. They're my current faves. Cheers man.

  • I live in my Gustin ultra-lights... but at 8oz they are really wearing thin now after a year of constant use. Switched over to the Black2's for a bit. It feels weird wearing heavy fabric again

  • I wouldn't take the advice of anyone who refers to themself as 'Chip'.

  • Joe, there were some Made and Crafted in black in TK Maxx today. Nearly got them for you, but they were a 33...

  • Really am starting to love these Gustins now.

Some nice looking black selvedge on Gustin site right now.

    And it's payday....

  • go on

  • Done diddley done

I'm digging the black and grey jeans right now for the simple reason that I have two really nice denim jackets in very different states of faded-ness and you can't double denim with mis-matched blues. Grey strides is a double-denim get out of jail card and means I can wear my lovely faded 1970s wrangler jacket (complete with giant 70s wing-like collar) with impunity.

  • You CAN double denim with mismatched blues, that's crazy talk, dooksie!

If done correctly, obvs... Dark pants, faded jacket...

  • Some may so bold but I prefer the safety of a neutral pant.

I have a weird one colour issue anyway. I can't ever wear more than one non-neutral item of clothing. every time I try I end up suffering some weird cognative dissonance thing and taking one of the colours off.

I really need to get over it.

    OCD thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Amen.

It's why the Royal Blue/Red/Bright Green/Pink trouser brigade do my head in.

  • I can't really talk, I haven't worn blue jeans for six or seven years...

  • You should change your name to #000000

  • When done right...
