Old durace track BB 105mm axle, it's asymmetric and only the DA axle will fit the bearings and the cups... Have one on order from France but it hasn't come yet. Cheers for the thought tho Harvey
I do need some wooden rims built up but need to find 32/40h hubs, got any? -

Great ride today, champion effort guys! We'll have to do something like that again soon, perhaps to Bognor Regis? Would be good to get a few more folks off of here to come along!

Ride was really good fun this morning. Four of us set off along the coast in the sunshine with the vague idea of Beachy Head in mind. We ended up rocketing along with the wind behind us and made it to Beachy Head in under and hour and a half. Two brakeless fixies and big hills meant that it got a bit hairy on the 16% hills near Cuckmere. Combined with a Halo courier tyre, Danny was playing a pretty dangerous game and when on the way back had to switch wheels with me (leaving me with 54-18 ratio to deal with) to avoid a blowout on a big hill. We did the whole thing in 3 hours cycling time and got back before the rain set in. We didn't get overtaken by any lycra-clad roadies and despite huffing and puffing up some of the hills, it was a pretty good effort.
All in all, great morning of cycling, props to Danny for stealing a cider from the National Trust cafe and skitching up a hill and Josh and Danny for managing the whole thing brakeless.

Sounds like a sick ride! Ride to Bognor next weekend? I have the weekend off work for once :)
-
• #48
We can doez Saturday?
-
• #49
YES! I checked it out on Google maps and it is about 30 miles along the coast to bognor but it is pretty much flat all the way so it will probably be less demanding than what you did Sunday. If people were up for it I would probably head home from Bognor as it is pretty much my neck of the woods but everyone else could either ride back or there is regular trains to Brighton should people feel lazy.
First group ride in March, I'll be bringing cameras along.....
