  • ^What a joke. Three Michelin restaurants is hardly relevant, there is a massive predominance of generic chains, and an infinity of mono-curries. Although to be honest, it's pretty similar in other UK cities. Practically everywhere else I have been has a better food culture than the UK.

The markets are pretty awesome though, allowing you to cook well and cheaply at home, so long as you can cook in bulk with your 8kg of potatoes, 10 lemons and 3 massive cucumbers.

On a side note - I'm out for pizza tomorrow, sorry!

  • ^ THIS!

West midlands heavily contributes to the statistics that rank us as the most obese nation in Europe. Is it any wonder?

  • Malta has worse food culture than the UK.

  • ^ THIS!

West midlands heavily contributes to the statistics that rank us as the most obese nation in Europe. Is it any wonder?

Over 10% of the population live in the west midlands, in mainly urban areas so i'd expect it to be pretty statistically significant.

  • We should encourage Scotland to become independent; that would make 'us' healthier.

  • Is living in urban areas significant? Presumably there's more KFC/KFC rip-off eaters, but also more couscous and rocket eaters. What do farmers eat? Probably loads of pie and sausage.

    I blame the poor.

  • Is living in urban areas significant?

The make up of a city- access to green public spaces, supported methods of mobility within the city, access to free sport facilities (e.g. tennis/basketball courts) etc I imagine would be an influence on the way people live here, or anywhere.

  • Is living in urban areas significant?

It's significant in terms of population density/percentage of the population.

  • Peoples weight is dependent on themselves not where they reside.

  • While what you say is partially true, it's not that simple.
