anyone tried the contour roam 2?

If you can get someone in america to get you a go pro3 you'll save like £100 ish on the price here

Ed, what mount do you use for your bike? I have got oversize riser bars on one of my bikes and have found the bike mount a little fiddly. Thinking maybe the roll bar mount would be better.
I am still keen on the bluetooth on the Contour to sync with my phone for screen, as I wouldn't have to pay extra for an LCD screen for the Go Pro if I decided I want a screen at a later stage...
decision decision decision...

I use a head strapped one, as it's much stabler and easier to control, I only have use the handlebar mount only so don't have much to show.

Or Europe, like Spain, save you something like £40-60.

I quite liked the look of this Kickstarter - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spectacam/spectacam-a-dual-video-sports-helmet-cam-with-wifi?ref=live
Any thoughts?

Looks good in theory but doesnt have the frame rates that the new go pro has for a start. Or if it does doesnt mention it.
Plus go pro has so many different mounts out there for it.

I've got a plan to be vlogging whilst cycling, similar to cyclegaz but the main purpose of my youtube channel is to be entertaining and comedy based instead of cyclegaz's pointing out bad drivers/cyclists etc

I seriously can't see any reason why you wouldn't go for the GoPro over the others.

You're trolling a hell of a lot recently ed. It's even being reported quite often. Could you tone it back perhaps?
-
• #138
Because the GoPro appear to be superior in almost every aspect in the video that have been posted?
-
• #139
I thought the Sony Action Cam gave the best account of itself in that video?
-
• #140
That video does little to explore the functions, the video quality and still options, the fitting options, the usability, the size and weight, the accessories available etc etc.
Having spent a while doing research into them, and handling several, and owning one of them, I am about to buy the Gopro hero3 Black adventure, with touch screen back, and a few other bolt ons.
Can anyone tell me that there is anything comes even remotely close? -

But everyone's requirements are different.
For many the mounts on the GoPro are an issue... what if you don't wear a helmet and you've got cut-down bars?
What if you want higher sensitivity so it can be used at night more effectively? GoPro is f2.8 which isn't great for recording your winter commute.
What if you want GPS built-in?
What if the mount angle requires you to rotate the image?
What if you want a wider FoV?
What if the speed by which you could replace the SD card matters?
What if you want to record your TT? (Have you seen the profile of the GoPro... almost every other camera is more aero than one of those.)
I mean, to suppose there is only one answer and that all other answers are wrong in all cases displays a fundamental thought bias that is flawed. It literally is broken logic. Could we apply the same thought to other things? Why would you want anything other than a Charge Plug?
Now either you're actually stupid (I think not), or you seek to troll on purpose (given the recent frequency by which you're being reported for things that people claim are stalking and trolling, I think so).
And I give few warnings. You've been on here long enough that experience should tell you that. So when I say, "Hey, tone down the trolling.", perhaps instead of persisting with a dumb line of logic you might want to think... ah, this is one of those subtle warnings because he doesn't want to do anything and I'm somehow acting in a way that is putting him in a position where he might end up having to do something.
I've even tried to reply to a few of your posts highlighting the ridiculousness of the things you've said to demonstrate through that where examples of trolling can be found. You seem rather oblivious to it though, at least in your online behaviour as you just carry on (and carry on being reported).
The reports are a strange thing, you've not been reported for anything for ages, and of a sudden a number of people have started doing so. That isn't something that just happens, a growing number of people clearly think you're a troll.
Seriously... tone down the trolling.

If you insist on having that stupid topic otherwise known as "Scobled", I can't see anything I can do about it.
As for the trolling, I don't know what's exactly what have changed.

Must spread rep...
Honestly I have used 3 out of the 4 cams there and the go pro is just the best (to me)
Huge range of filming quality and fps, and 4k cinema even though I never use it. -

That cyclist rode way too close to the kerbs to be safe.

That cyclist is me, i wasn't cycling right next to the kerb, but i wasn't in the centre of the lane either, matter of opinion and riding style i guess

I ride that road everyday, and i would advise being a bit further in to the road, as cars vy for position getting to the roundabout
which is the best value hero 3?
are the extras on the silver or black ones worth the premium?
