I think the Ghost X is not waterproof, so would need to get the Ghost XL, which is on sale at Aliexpress at the moment. Reviews are not very good though... https://road.cc/content/review/drift-innovation-ghost-xl-waterproof-action-camera-288947

Ghost XL's maximum 30fps at 1920x1080 is pretty dreadful in 2022.

Anyone every used the chilli tech bullet cams? I'm thinking of GoPro Hero 10 for the front (to capture number plates and good detail) and then a cheap camera with good battery life for the back. The bullet cam seems to hit the spot, and the new version is discounted at the moment https://chilli-tech.com/content/new-bullet-action-camera/

Resolution of course is important, but I thought they had good battery life/on the go charging.
@psb no stabilization. Ok, not good. Its quite interesting that the only more or less suitable product is really expensive.
And there is dashbike from Germany which was kinda of promising.
But they are not delivering at all, neither product nor communication, everyone that backed them is angry. -

I have a Ghost XL and the image quality is acceptable but you really notice the lack of image stabilization, even with it helmet mounted. Also a billion settings so easy to put it in the wrong mode. Cycliq is far easier to use and has more stable footage, though Cycliq's firmware is buggy and crashes more than it should, forcing a hard reset on more than one occasion. Am keeping both for now...

no stabilization
All stabilisation is post-processing isn't it?
It can be applied to any film from any camera (with varying degrees of faff)
Unless your camera is mounted on gimbals or steadicam, of course.

I've a fly 12 front which has died, if anyone fancies trying o resurrect it, they are welcome to it for cost of postage

I am far from knowledgeable, but cameras can do stuff with shutter or software in camera.
In Foto cameras you have sensors and lens elements that move.
And a load of video cameras have it built in.
In any case I think having to do post production so you can maybe see number plates/faces is not great. -

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but presume you have done the reset? I struggled to find the hole to press it.

I am far from knowledgeable
I'm betting I'm less so on this

Bought one the gopro-alikes from Costco, post 1092 above.
Charged it up, read through the instructions twice.N0 data cable, it is wifi download only.
And, the suggested app, 'XDV' has been superceded by the 'XDV Pro' app
both available on the Play Store. Will be trying the camera out over the weekend.

This product comes up quite a bit on a cycliq facebook group I'm on (*saddo alert*). It gets good user reviews!

Nice, thanks. Will take a punt on it, can't be worse than the chilli tech bullet cam...

I tried that too. Currently querying the image quality with them as the one I have won't even get a numberplate in broad daylight at low speed. Very different to the footage on their website.

It sounds like they updated it recently-ish. A different Sony sensor, apparently, which has improved the video quality. Haven't tried mine yet but will use it soon and post a video.

Anyone recommend a saddle mount for the cycliq rear light?
Got a front and rear set and want to mount in the neatest way.

Are the mounts are basically garmin profile?

Anyone used a 360 camera on their bike or on them during a ride? How do you find it etc?
-
• #1124
Brilliant on a motorbike where you have a lot more frame to mount for a better all round view.
OK on a road bike but mounting options are harder to get an all round view. But ideal if you just want front and sides to look at pretty things you rode past.
Off-road I’d avoid, too fragile. -

Anyone want a pair of Chilli bullet cams for £40? Will throw in 1x 32GB SD card, and one of these clamps:
https://www.chilli-tech.com/action-camera-accessories?product_id=166
One cam has never been used, the other has been tried a couple of times.
All original packaging and bits and bobs are present. Purchased around July last year.
GoPro Hero 10 is £330 at the moment from the GoPro website, which is I think a good price historically https://gopro.com/en/gb/
