  • There's a 54cm Pompetamine on eBay ATM currently at £12.50+£10 P&P. Might end up cheap.

  • Going to stick a cheeky bid on that, ta

  • I need a price check guys. Currently selling my Pompino build

    Is 380€ (negotiable) to much?

  • I'd say more like €280

  • What degree stem are people using on their Pompino's to get it horizontal or a slight downward angle?

  • -17deg but it will look silly with such a sloping top tube.

  • I have a -6deg, which i think lines up nicely with the toptube.

  • -17deg but always looks silly unless slammed with no bearing cover or spacers

    Also

  • -6 is what I have and it looks ok

  • I've built this one up recently, quite fun!

    Lot's of inspiration from LFGSS.

  • Love the kickshift.

  • Are the SA 2 speed hubs any good now? Seem to remember them getting panned when they were released because of mechanical failures.

  • something like 1300g though

  • Yeah saw that, but my commute is hillier than anticipated so would be a nifty add on.

Unless I get a rear disc tab brazed on and just use a 5 speed rear block and single shifter... but then we're on a totally different track.

  • I built up a bike with one and after half a year gave it to my brother. He rides it happily with no problems.
I quite like the 2-Speed Hubs. Heavy though.

  • never got on with mine and sold it. I found that if i geared it up around 70 GI i had a good flat/rolling gear and could climb anything i could with the 2 spd hub just at a slower cadence..

  • Where are you guys finding these V4 Pomps if on-one isnt making um any longer?

  • ^ there's one (v4 i think) selling on the 01Fix1 FB group at mo.

Dunno where the rest come from.

  • Got mine on FB marketplace for my sins...

  • Yeah was thinking it's a bit of a wimp out but also has the potential to make the difference between arriving at work a sweaty mess or relatively composed which is my main concern as there's no shower facilities.

  • I hope this one keeps on running too then. I quite like having a normal and lighter gear. I saw a v4 pompine, size M I believe, being offered in Germany, kleinanzeigen.ebay.de or something.

I have 3sx lying around, that one is heavy!

  • It's a V3 (my old frame) :-)

  • Chain tug mech hanger thingy and cold set to 130 mm. Or a freewheel block. Fancy SunXCD 120 mm cassette hub is also an option. Why'd you need to get a disc mount brazed on?

  • Go crazy and add a 44-28 up front

  • Ah, my bad, still it might send a buyer it's way from here :)
