It finally happened. Frame has cracked around the base of the seat tube.
What do do now? Is it weldable? I might just retire it from commuting/dad bike now and set it up for cross until it kills me.

Can’t say I’ve heard that song before

Anyone know a frame repair person in Manchester?

I've mailed Atlantic Boulevard. Properly sad about this

@snottyotter might well be able to point you in the right direction.

Such a shame! @beardydave may be able to help.
Somebody else's name on it, but all else fails, and if they drop out, I'll have a 'L' 55cm wishbone V3 frame available locally at the end of the month. -

How did it go? Noticeable ping or did you just see when looking at it at some point?
Bit worried about this happening to mine, especially since I've shoved a 130mm hub in it. Though not sure if this something they fixed with the v4.

It's not "gone" yet, just a hairline crack around the tube across the whole rear side. I only noticed it when oiling the chain. I wonder if the baby seat has contributed tbh.
I rode it this morning, paying attention to any noticeable flex or creaking, and didn't detect a difference.

Cheers. If I can get a wishbone XL if take it, but keen to see if Atlantic can offer a repair first.

Yeouch... lucky you noticed it.

The patient has been admitted. £120 for reinforcing the joint and repainting ain't bad. Only £21 more than the frame cost me new in 2012!

I love a happy ending

He's brazed the joint to strengthen it, which he told me has the added benefit of being flexible. The area looks a little bit lumpy now, but he's managed to match the paint quite well colour-wise, although the finish is a bit quick and dirty. And he tapped out the BB!
I was considering doing a spray can pink or maybe orange fade on the lower half of the frame. One day...

I've picked up an old wreck of pomp. On inspection, the only bit I'll be keeping is the frame. Plan is to turn into a fixed winter commuter. I'd like to run a disk front end. This gives me fork based dilemmas.
My question, how fucked would the geo be with 425mm A2C? Anyone tried it? What was the outcome? The Kinesis DC37 seems to be the go to carbon option, but they are now rare as hens teeth and were 405mm. The standard is like 395 I think?

As a winterhack it's all good

This is reassuring. Got any photos of such a combo? I'm planning to still make it look nice - New paint, new wheel build etc...Just wondering about whether to put a china carbon disk fork on the front. I've found an allow alternative on ebay with the perfect A2C. Decision decisions.
