Too long ? Depend on with tyre width you want ;)
With my 37mm tyres, it's perfect I think (edit : but its 400mm a2c)Best pic I have where you can see the space

Ah sorry it was a Volume fork I was saying was probably too long.
-
• #6631
Yeah, 420 might be long .. :/

:( they're glow in the dark. Woulda been cool!
Got a modified steamroller fork I'm gonna throw in my pomp n see how it looks before I buy anything new.
I'm not sure about wheels. Got a set of DA hubs on velocity deep vee rims but they ain't very wide. Guess the tyre clearance on the Pomp ain't that big though is it.

My V4 fits 42mm knobbly tyres:
Not fat enough? -
• #6634
That would certainly be fat enough, if it'll fit in my wishbone rear end one.

If anyone is buying one of those pimps and they want a full carbon canti fork...
Mine is still for sale. -
• #6636
Is that bigger than fits in a v3? I assume you can't fit a rear mudguard in with a tyre that fat.

Got pics?

I've noticed that cantilever seem to be much more popular the v brakes.
Why is this?
I agree they look better but the general concensus is that they are not as effective and are only usefully on cyclo cross where clearance for mud and dirt is required but in this case discs have taken over so are days of cantilevers over? -

I've just acquired a v4 frame so 42mm is an unexpected bonus... do your wheels have wide rims? If so, what are they? I'm looking for a wheelset with >19mm inside rim width and flip flop hub.

Never owned a V3 but don't think they fit over 35mm. Mudguard is def not possible with 42s.

28h Archetypes on DA7600 hubs, so not super wide

Cheers.

Many thanks. Good to know what works.

• #6645
Mostly because of cable pull compatibility with road levers
-
• #6646
Nice... i'm checking my steerer tube lenght
-
• #6647
I'm wondering what the fork tire clearance is... got any pics?
-
• #6648
No pics and the bike now is a mudguarded commuter.
Tightest spot was on the rear (no-brake-bridge). -
• #6649
Oh, i thought that the main problems were with the fork head.. i think that rear clearance problems can be solved just by pushing the wheel to the outer limit of the dropouts (maybe with a halflink?)

Sh*t way too short
what are you waiting for then?
