^ I run a flip flop hub with 17t on one side and 22t on the other. There's plenty of room in the dropouts to have an even bigger difference in teeth.

I use the inner and a middle (bash guard on the outer) plus flip flop to have exactly the same dropout position:
26x18 and 32x12
Which is fairly close to what you appear to be aiming for, you could easily make it 28x15 and 32x12, from my crappy in my head maths that seems pretty close?
It's a lot easier to sort chain line for the inner and middle and smaller chainrings won't rub.As I said before your insistence on the dingle is the root / route of your problems, sell it and buy two normal cogs.

Rather than start again from scratch (and go down the road of tiny cogs on triple chainsets), I persevered with the idea of using a good quality 53/39 chainset that offered a decent (in this case 43.5mm) chainline.
The old MTB double was cast aside in favour of this 130BCD SRAM Rival OCT crank.
The black 44T chainring is by FSA, it's non-ramped and designed as an inner ring, so using the proper recesses for the bolts means that it ends up being mounted backwards, on the outside. A win/win as it not only looks better but marginally decreases chainline on the outer setup.
The bike's complete now, I took it out for the briefest of spins yesterday and it's nice and quiet. I'll give it a proper shakedown today though. There was an insurmountable problem with the obscure-as-hell 43T 130BCD ring I'd previously picked up, so I had to return it. Pic below should explain.

Well, it was after a race when I came back home with the bike behind the car, the road was so wet that it has cleaned the down part of the wheels.( Excuse my weakness in english :p )

It took a while but that answer was much, much better than I expected.

Can I please ask what crank / BB / chainring setup is on the following bikes?
JB's blue one:
Jet's white one (running a 40T ring):
Woodz's white one:
Trying to get my head around what size the largest ring that can be run on the inside-position of a Road Double chainset is.
what are those wheels on the blue
-
• #2187
They're either Halo Aerotracks or V-Sprint wheels, the rear of which was expertly rebuilt onto a SystemEx hub
-
• #2188
Argh, silver cranks when everything else is black, I can't understand how people tolerate this!
In fact, they look like my old cranks on the blue one. I had to change them for black ones asap on my pompetamine haha

Rims look slightly deeper than Aerotracks, might be wrong though

Has anyone bought a pre-built bike from On-One before?
Is this a normal gap between the chain stay and the crank arm? It measures at 1.6mm

Ride it and see if it goes ting, I'm guessing it won't.

TBH from a polo experience the chainstays are badly crimped and does sway under hard riding. The crimp is where most pompino meet their death and that clearance doesn't look safe. I am 67kg and I managed to bend the rear triangle pretty bad. This was after 2 years of polo duty though.
For the money they are brilliant as a first bike or just a fun run around but don't expect them to last.
-
• #2193
Criticising Pomps for getting killed by polo is like criticising lo-pros for having the wrong position for North Shore style freeriding.
-
• #2194
I don't trash the bike as I am not one of those top players who hop around etc. The rear triangle was bent when I powered down for a joust and noticed the tyre rubbing the chainstay. Btw on one themselves mentioned polo in their pompino sales pitch.
-
• #2195
Stupid lo-pros, being so rubbish at freeriding.
-
• #2196
^^^^^^^ try a wider bb. I run a 113 bb with 175 deore hollowtech 1 cranks and have 18mm clearance to the chainstays.
-
• #2197
Dtroll the thing is this bike is brand new :/
-
• #2198
As long as th cranks aren't clipping the stays there's no problem. A wider bb will mess your chainline, which is worth checking as that might be the problem. I've found on one pretty crap in the past. My frame left the factory without a frame number, their answer was for me to get it stamped at my local police station. It's also got a cable stop under the drive side chain stay. Why? I've seen them with crimps on the stay to allow larger chain rings. A small run, at the time they started producing the pompetamine, had disc and canti mounts.
I think they tend to buy up job lots of cheap components and build up the frames with whatevers kicking about. So buying an off the peg pomp is a bit hit and mis.
Enough slating on one. I've got 2 and they're both great fun and very versatile. -
• #2199
Best then to wait on their reply before trying anything else. What cranks are they and do you know the measurement of the current BB?

My suggestion would be to ride it and see it it goes ting?
It depends on you gait and style of riding, I had similar with my pomp, but I push inwards at the front of my stroke, so the back pushes out where it goes past the chainstay.
Sorry, I meant that there's no way they'll work for the Dingle Fixed setup I'm after.
No FD, it's to be a pair of fixed gear ratios (currently intended to be 39-21T and 43-17T) that require the same chain length.
