  • So it now says the XL will be in stock early December. Guess ill have to buy all the parts before the frame arrives...

  • Any idea where I can find the frame number on a Pompino? Nothing stamped on the BB shell...

  • It's probably a fake.

Seriously though that's weird. Mine's on the BB shell, NDS top towards the cockpit

  • Like so:

  • I've got 2 pomps. One is as shown above. The other doesn't seam to have one.

  • now, I'm also a pompetamine owner.

    frame number is as above.

  • Has anyone here had any experience with a shimano alfine chainset? I was thinking about getting these as a replacement for my current messengers. Will I see any benefit (other than not getting my trousers caught in the chain)?

  • Sweet bike, bigger tyres planned?

Also, I know this may be the wrong thread, I'm new here, but its semi related to my pompino build. So I want some bontrager ssr vr-cl bars and Evans seem like the only place to stock them. But apparently they don't send them to Australia?? Anyone know how or where I can buy them?

  • ^^What seatpost?

  • I'm using an Alfine chain set on my Pomp. I wanted a black chain set for under fifty quid, that was the only reason I bought it.
I was worried the guard would foul on the chain but so far so good. 1/8 chain btw.

My bike came from OnOne with big old 32mm tyres on, they are a struggle to get going and keep going. Its been a while since Ive ridden a fixed wheel. The 48-18 ratio was too tall for my weedy legs.I required some zippier 22's, will go back to the wider profiles as the weather degenerates. Incidentally I'm using a 45-17 which feels like mustard given the hills I encounter on my commute.

I'm using a layback Thomson seat pin. It's a shame you can't get a budget layback post.

  • Any setback seat post will give you a similar position to the Thomson layback. It's budget inline posts that are harder to come by in my experience.

  • Happy days and in 26.4 too. Just what I need for my budget bro pro project. Not sure how i missed that. Cheers Tester

  • cross posting from current projects

Anyone ever put sus-fork on a pomp? saw one the other day set up like that and it looked like a really fun ride

Received mine yesterday. Look better in the flesh than in the pic. Well happy with them (I ordered three. By accident)

  • Do they not do a nice red one?

  • That is awesome! I should order one for my dad's commuter.

I'm sure you can paint it easily, can't see why not.

  • ^^ You might try their warehouse in lancs!

  • I'm buying one and painting it red

  • The travesty of that will annoy those Yorkshire folk no end, but do remember to mount it upside down so the leaves are in the right place.

Is that right? I tried to find out which way is correct and couldn't find a definitive answer.
