I might have masochistic tendancies, but 200k in wool shorts is just a step too far!

I'll be riding in my Rapha 3/4 lengths.
Like a boss.

I've seen a few places online but I think mostly in the States and quite pricey:

I think made by these people but not sure whether there are any UK dealers:

Also Tudor Sports does retro looking and cheap stuff: plus 4s and tights
Not sure whether they would be too warm or not though?

Thanks, Peter. Wallonia, it is then.
I'll be wearing my medium weight tweed plus-2s. I'm not hardcore so they are lined in the front...

BTW, I'm loving this 'What am I going to wear?' discussion. Aren't we just adorable?!

Yeah, especially since the only person in the thread that hasn't said anything about clothes is the only woman in the thread. Sorry, gotta run. I need to powder my nose before my next conference call... ciao, lovies.

re: wool shorts
The rule for bikes is pre-1987 (edit) 'style'. I stopped racing (seriously) in 1981 and I was wearing assos skin suits and bib shorts the last few years that I raced so lycra was around in that era.

Fair enough...
Still rather not wear spandex for reasons of hygiene and 80s pop-metal.

i thought that it was 1987 they keep adding a year back each year. I was told that my de rosa was 1984 but who knows?

Those reynolds always look rather clumpy to me. I may well be wrong though.

Why not set up an exclusive little online stall on this thread? We're such a bunch of fashion queens I'm sure you'll make a tidy profit!

Icebreaker do some wool shorts. 84% Merino with a supposedly top-notch Italian chamois. Possibly not sufficiently retro looking for the L'Eroica though. Pricey too.

hi shredder, yes I'm in the NL. most hilly bits are around Maastricht/Valkenburg/Heerlen - indeed close to the Belgian border but again the Wallon part - it's the region of the NL classic: Amstel Gold Race. they're all very short though...
