  • Train journey takes about 15 hours from London with a change and stop off in Paris.
Costs about £100 return booked in advance on a sleeper. Trains in europe are AMAZING!
If anyone does want to train it i'll teach them GO.

Funniest journey I ever took was a minibus from the Albanian capital to the boarder, when we got to some mountain passes the driver hit the accelerator and said it was because of bandits/hijackings!

@mothergirl, we made some great friends back from a-dam, drugs in pants guy and funny jewish misanthrope.
@andy get a job as a waiter as you can get tips. I'll give you a fake ref if you need one.

  • 4ndy - the next Kate Moss of Birmingham...

Hyper, you've sold me. Sounds like fun. I've only been on a sleeper once. £100 sounds optimistic, but if it's less than £150, I'd be down.

  • All night train party!

booked flights tonight, so the family and I are going!!! Hope for through-in opportunities and to see some great polo.

  • ^ Shit! I read at the end of the LOBP post that the dates aren't confirmed yet. Apparently they're waiting to hear back from the city officials about the location-hire. When I started the thread it sounded confirmed, but then someone asked and they clarified.

Sorry Lucas, I should have posted when I found out!

  • @Dan - you could always fly there without your bike and use a Bicing bike

  • Looks like good rearwards weight distribution...

  • and half the wheel is already 'disked'...

  • Angelo from Cambridge told me they have to employ people in vans to drive the bikes back up a massive hill, as they all collect at the bottom. Lazy Spaniards.

  • I took an epic skate trip to Barcelona a few years back, and June is a great time of year there. Those Championships will be phenomenal.

No worries, we want to go to Barcelona, was the excuse we needed to get it done.

  • Phew. By the sound of things, it's likely to be this date anyway. Fingers crossed, sounds like we could have a fairly large Birmingham contingent

  • A quick search here http://www.raileurope.co.uk/Default.aspx?tabid=101#CloseOption0 shows Hyper may be right. £100 is bargainous, and you could time it to get it on the Thursday morning (I searched for March because the schedule doesn't exist for June).

  • That's based on a 4-bed sleeper, though.

  • If you guys do get the train, I want to come along as support. :)

  • All night train party!

OYB days off could present a hurdle. Someone already has that weekend booked. May be flexible though.

  • Cash in hand? I'll get hannah to stand in. Sweeeeeeeet.

  • Anne-marie may come along - get Hannah to join too. Cheap train/sleeper tickets seem to be dependent on being a group of four. Two-bed carriages seem to be twice as much.

  • You can share with people you don't know usually, I'm ok with that... But if it's a polo wags trip you want I can go in a different carriage

I'll concede to you if they're stretched, you're polo and I can go any weekend

  • Much obliged, but I really want a group trip. That would rule.

  • Wouldn't it just.....

  • Can't leave OYB in the shit though, wish BCN was a confirmed date, but yeah I'm there if I can but Dan has leave dibs due to being polo
