Didn’t realise they did different adapters depending in disc standard.
I’d still personally buy a pair of the bigger lockrings, as my cassette tool didn’t fit over the endcaps on either hope or DT QR, let alone thru-axle. Also they’re black so more matchy...

for 7p what could go wrong?

I wonder if any of the resident mechanics can help, I'm going to be swapping my SRAM hydro group from one frame to another.
I want to have a go at doing this myself, I'm pretty mechanically minded and do all my own work, but this will be my first go with hydraulics.
Onto my massively stupid question - I can find loads of info/videos on replacing fluid, but nothing on draining the system is it just a case of pushing all the fluid out using the described technique for bleeding rather than replacing the fluid, and then carrying out the bleed process again in full once re-installed?

My thoughts exactly.
You first though!

On your bike though yeah?

With you riding it?

Should do. Same shape as the M525 which are listed in the description.

Ordered. Cheers

How do I tell if all the air is out, having just put fluid in for the first time?
-
• #4189
Bubbles stop appearing at the top?
-
• #4190
They stopped, I closed everything up, zero clamping force- absolutely none.

• #4191
I don't know what you're bleeding but presume you followed instructions?
Did you bleed with or without pads/bleed spacers in? Did you tap the levers before locking off?
-
• #4192
Bleed pot on the lever, syringe full of fluid on the calliper, open calliper bleed port, push fluid in.
Go nuts tapping everything.
Lock off bleed port, squeeze lever, remove bleed pot, put bolt back in.
Squeeze lever until bored - no clamping force ever develops.
This done with a bleed-block between the pistons.
Where did I go wrong?
-
• #4193
I found I needed to squeeze the lever and open and close the bleed port at the caliper.
Also change the bike orientation during the bleed process to help air bubbles move.
Then close bleed port at the bottom and then close up the top port.

The instructions say not to squeeze the lever during the process - should I ignore them?
-
• #4195
I am finding this incredibly frustrating and would like to hit the bike with a hammer, currently.

Just fucking work you cunting things.

I had this last night. Worked 3rd time and I'm not sure what I did differently. Removed caliper from mount and waved it around a bit, leant bike forward and back on stand as much as possible and kept tapping caliper, hose and lever.
Never had that issue when bleeding the old 785 calipers, this was an RS505 caliper...

This is XTR caliper to R785 lever
Ok so I've spoken to Hope, seems the wrong end caps were in the box, the six bolt ones not the centre lock.
Hope are sending new caps out today so fingers crossed.
