will riders be shunned if not riding fixed or ss?

Would be nice to invite mandem that aren't into our subculture.

As long as you never change gear. And always pedal. And take off a brake. :]

ride what you want. Some people even came on a tandem last year. As for lights, as long as we stay in a big group we don't really need to worry about them before the closed sections. Don't be an idiot though, if a driver is forcing his way through then just let him.

I'm so very tempted to join you guys but I've only just started riding SS (i.e. as of last week) and am currently maintaining an average of ~13mph with a 42:18 ratio, so I don't really rate my chances of keeping up/crossing the line :(

this really isnt a hard ride. at all.
if youre riding slowly youre pretty much garaunteed that theres someone else riding at the same pace as you.

even if you dont make the finish (apparently not everyone did last year either) its still looking to be good fun. I definately wont be in the front group either so we can get there (or not) together.

the route i take is to go past london bridge station, down through deptford to greenwhich and then through the park. the roundabout is a pretty central point of the heath, there will probably be a lot of people around on bikes as well. hope to see you there!

I just realised that there aren't any trains into London that early on Sunday morning from Hampshire... anyone I can crash with on Saturday? :( I just posted a picture of myself (and my bike) in the names and faces to bikes thread if you want to try and judge how safe I am...
