Roly Masset is the pres. of my old club. He's about 159, and still rides out day in, day out. Still holds club records.

Thats the way for me.

As long as parking at college costs £10 per day. And as long as I'm addicted to take-aways; I need some way to throw the calories away.

My mum rides her dad's bike which he bought in his teens. He was born in 1903 and she's a very sprightly 74.
Bravo!

Frustratingly, still recovering from a knee injury -- patella femeral syndrome which curtails the cycling. Maddening really not being able to do what you love.

My dad did a 1:12 for 25 miles last year, at 80, so I have to keep going until then so that I can beat him on level terms.

Started in my early teens and Im 51 now, racing and riding plans take me to 65. Racing guys in their late 70' so I want to be going that long. -

I would have said forever.. Used to ride events with Rocco from Willesden. I've just had so many narrow escapes in this past year.. Also keep reading things like this: http://road.cc/content/news/30000-record-breaking-cyclist-pat-kenny-killed-while-out-cycling-staffordshire
Only go out at night at the moment. Sad. -

I feel the end is nigh for my cycle commute.
I've lost secure bike storage in the building I work in. This was just me bringing the bike into the building even though I was told I couldn't, but now new desks have turned up that makes getting the bike to where I sit an impossibility. I can't bring the bike indoors any more and would have to lock it on the street. My problem: I spent too much on the bike and it's not insured if locked outside for long periods, and it's too nice to not get stolen.
The second problem is showers. I've been a member of a local gym because my workplace has no showers. But the local gym have only had ice cold showers during January... not even luke warm. Cycling 10 miles and being all sweaty and frozen, only to be greeted by an ice shower is absolutely fucking miserable. It's really not setting me up well for the day at all.
So I'm in a fix... no shower, and nowhere to store my bike securely. Sucks big time.
I won't stop riding on weekends, can't imagine ever stopping that. But I loved commuting by bike and feel like it's being taken away from me without me being able to do something about it.
Honestly: Not being able to comfortably (shower and bike storage) cycle to work is the driving force behind my looking to find another employer. Not a happy man.
I could consider a Brompton to solve the storage (not that I can afford to even look at one nowadays), but I'd still be screwed for a shower.
Not happy.

Shower before you leave home, then have a quick wipe down with a flannel when you get to work. It works for me.

Smelly fscker.
Though... how long is your commute.
Mine's 10 miles, and I'm not very good at not going fast and sweating like a pig.

My colleagues haven't said anything. Yet.
It's 9 miles, so about the same as yours.

Brompton shmompton. Build up a beater. beaters are ace. fat tyres, bombproof wheels, a bit heavier than you'd like, use the ugly bike protection syndrome.
Getting to hot? cycle slower.

May be the way.
Might have to start scouring gumtree for some old piece of shit. So screwed money-wise that I only have £100 to buy a bike if that's what I end up doing.
Seriously though, employers who don't provide cycling facilities suck. I'd rather move jobs.

Just stick a wanted ad up for some free bits, you can get a beater here for £100.

You'd need to find the urge to resist canning it at every opportunity, here's a question - can you make the 10 miles without getting off your saddle to sprint?
I knew a chap who was still cycling to work at the age of 84. He only stopped because he had to move to get on with his life!
